"I put your team at the top of their division. But they are not the best team in this league.

This team is one of the least flawed. I agree with Hobbs in Welcoming 3 teams in this discussion, The Nets, Blazers and Hornets.
No love for the Magics?
I'm curious what you (or anyone) think our flaws/weaknesses are... especially vs. the teams you listed. (honest question i'm not trying to bait anyone... i just haven't seen any analysis of our team):
PG: Delonte West
SG: Allen IVerson
SF: Danny Granger / Matt Harpring
PF: Tim Duncan / Thaddeus Young
C: Brad Miller / Joakim Noah
(P.S. Keep in mind that we're *this close* to trading Delonte West for Eddy Curry and two 16th round picks
)
I really like your team except for AI. I think you would be better off with larger SG. (especially when you look at he size of some of the SGs you would have to face in the playoffs) And I don't trust AI to involve Duncan enough, and Duncan is the player on your team that can deliver a title.
Well FWIW, here's my thinking....
For the most part Delonte and AI are gonna switch up (Delonte PG on offense, AI PG on D), that's an imperfect solution, but the one we have right now. We added Harpring exactly to deal with guys like Maggette and Vince Carter. In a pinch, if we're getting beat up by a big SG, we'll move AI to PG, put in Harpring or Thad Young and ask them + Granger to lock down the wings....
Delonte showed in the semifinals vs. Boston, while not the worlds best PG, he works well with star players and knows when to take the shot and when to pass. So we're simplfying the game for him to allow Iverson to focus on scoring and secondary passing --- and Tommy's gonna be on AI and Delonte to RUN RUN RUN with Granger and Young.
As far as Iverson goes..... Iverson is who we think he is.... a warrior. But AI also knows that this is his last shot for a ring after the attempt in Denver fell apart. And Hubie will get him to see that the team has the best shot to win if he's involving other players --- something he does quite well btw, in addition to volume scoring. Everyone said he couldn't play with Melo and they've worked well togehter and have gotten others involved in DEN (their problem was they played no defense as a team).
Iverson will be this year's Pierce in the playoffs, he won't change his stripes, but he'll alter their hue to get that ring. Like Pierce he's not played with a player of Duncan's caliber and took far inferior teams much further.
And we've still got a few picks/trades we're working on.... thanks for the critique.
