Nice write-up bdm860... you've done a solid job of convincing me that I was underrating the Nets...

I do still think that the issue of getting an end of the game stop will be tough -- against say a team like the Magics (Iverson, Granger, Duncan).  West will play a little smaller without a guy like Tyson Chandler behind him.

There's still some time for a team like the Magics to bulk up enough to handle the star power posed by the Nets though... Harpring was brought in, in large part, to frustrate a guy like Maggette alowing Granger to go straight up vs. Pierce.

I'm hoping for a Playoff clash!  Should be a good one.

Thanks for the appreciation (glad that hour I spent at work writing this didn't go to waste  ;)).  I like Harpring a lot on your team, I was seriously considering drafting him instead of Przybilla. Tell you what, I'm inviting you to sit in my owners box if the Nets play the Magic in the playoffs.  Just don't expect me to be a gracious host if my team is losing.  :)

Houston VS. Portland (WCF)

Scoring Type: Boxing rounds:

Bogut (10) > Horford (9) - The numbers are pretty close with Bogut having an edge in every statistical category last season. Bogut has a track record of progress and improved every year in this league. Horford is an undersized C and will eventually log the majority of his minutes at the 4 spot.

Odom (8 ) < Amare (10) - Amare is a monster, nothing more to add here.

Wallace(10) > Gay (9) - The numbers are almost identical offensively with Wallace a superior defensive player at this point in his career.

Kevin Martin (9) < Iguodala (10) - Martin is a better shooter and offensive player, while A.I individual defense and passing skills earn him a slight nod.

Tony Parker (10) - TJ Ford (8 )- Parker is one of the best scoring PG's in the league and annually posts one of the highest FG% in the NBA. Ford is a good play maker who will be on his third team in 5 years.

Bench (10) > (8 ) - Although we still have a ways to go, experience and talent heavily favor Houston at this point in the draft.

Final Score:

Rockets (57) > Blazers (54)

My top 5 young team.  (Basically, I like the young foundation to build a champion)

1) Minnesota Timberwolves.   There is this guy name Lebron James who is probably the best player on the planet now at 23.  Unselfish on the court and makes his teammates better.

2) Boston Celtics.   I still believe Oden is going to be the next great big man.  Include a 25 year PG with finals experience, some young shooters, this can be a dangerous team

3) Las Vagas Lakers.  Durrant, Bosh and Mayo.  Nice foundation to build off

4) Spurs.  Paul surrounded by young potential talent.  All 4 are going to overachieve as long as they play with Paul.

5) Portland.   Alot of young talent.   But I see them more as a now team that needs to make one big trade to win now.  To much young talent to resign.  Best player potential is a step below the potential of the other four teams.

p.s.  TP for whoever can guess who is going to complain 1st

Blazers are better.  They have more players putting up similar stats but on winning (playoff) teams.

Though a deciding factor can be healthy.   Ford (back) and Wallace (concussions) could both be out of this league really fast.

Does anybody else think Bogut is being overrated right now.  I mean he pretty good, but he is being talked about like he is the second coming.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Might as well just give TPs to everyone reading this thread, I think we've all got a pretty good idea of who it's gonna be.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

He is on his way to being a top 5 C in this league.  He is just stuck on a team that doesn't seem to fit well together.

No.  Not quite.

But C is probably the easiest position to get into the top 5 if you have talent in the NBA.  There are just so few good real Cs.

Pretty much explains Bogut's issues

You are ignoring the experience and talent coming off of my bench. ATl wasn't even .500 last season and Ford barely played so the "playoff team" in this comparison is overrated.

You mean Finley and Shaq who both looked 'done' at different points in the playoffs?  Their days of being consistent threats are over.

I did see how Hortford play in the playoffs.  Ford, while missing a lot of time this year, averaged 25 minutes a game this year in the playoff, and played last year in the playoffs.

But look at some of your starters.  Wallace - lotto.  Bogut - lotto.  Martin - lotto.  Thomas - lotto.  Ridnour - lotto.  And how many of them were the best player on their team?

And for the players that were in the playoffs, how many of them were the best player on their team?

Rockets Vs. Nets (NBA Finals)

Scoring Type: Boxing rounds

Bogut (10) > Okur (9) - Pretty evenly matched. Bogut will get the nod because of superior rebounding.

Odom (9) > West (10) - West is a better scorer but Odom is a better defensive player, shooter and rebounder.

Wallace (9) < Pierce (10) - Paul gets the nod but not by as much as you think.

Kevin Martin (10)> Maggette (10)- Split, Martin is statistically a better scorer/shooter and Maggette is a better rebounder but all are slight.

Tony Parker (10) > Kidd (9) - Kidd is still a good play making PG but lets face it, he's lost a step over the years.

Bench:

Rockets (10) > Nets (9) - Nets have some championship experience coming off the bench but are not as deep at this point in the draft.

Final Score
Rockets (58) > Nets (57)
