whispers also indicate that ray allen is on the block, and (besides the offers ive gotten already) the kings will be using this week to weigh offers for the 9 time all star and arguable finals MVP SG, before coming to a decision on thursday.

The league would like to remind everyone of the deadline for roster moves by 8 tonight.

Quick, possibly silly question:

how do we "waive" players... i imagine that there may be scattered instances where some of us may want to add a player another team has waived...

Ubuntu Y'all!

I'm of the opinion (not official) that waived players should be listed in this thread.  Other GMs can add them as free agents before the 8:00pm deadline tonight (first come first served, one FA per day).  If they're not added by such time, they can once again be added when wdleehi re-opens the trading window.

That was quick. I guess I should have been more specific. I was aware of the rule but received permission from Commissioner Wdleehi to sign a 15th player before the 8pm deadline - since I hadn't signed any F.A.s over the weekend.

I'd suggest/request using the same format as was used to make picks.

Example:

The Atlanta Hawks waive Mark Blount.

via Rotoworld... perhaps the stock of Travis Outlaw (of the fake SpursWizards) and Steve Blake (of the fake Portland Annointed Ones Blazers) is slipping a bit?

Quote
The Trailblazers have reportedly offered to trade Travis Outlaw to the Grizzlies in exchange for a point guard.
Mike Conley is likely off limits, and the Grizzlies are inclined to keep Kyle Lowry for his toughness and defensive ability. The Blazers might be willing to take Javaris Crittenton, but more likely they would beef up the offer to land Conley or Lowry. This also raises doubts about Portland's confidence in Steve Blake, and confirms that they don't view Jerryd Bayless --whose passing has never been his strong suit-- as the point guard of the future.

(roy, TP for being a good sport in advance ;)).

I can 100% guarantee you that Javaris Crittenton doesn't get minutes over Steve Blake.  Kevin Pritchard didn't put together the best young team in the league by being stupid.

(On the other hand, I *do* think Outlaw is a bit overrated.  However, I think Portland's target in that deal would be Lowry; he's about on Outlaw's level.)

Hey, Hey... it's 21 other players, I ran out of room to write them all down.

It's with extreme sadness that the Orlando Magics today waived 36-year-old veteran SG Eddie Jones.  The move cuts the MAGICS roster to 17 players.

Magics GM Gainesville Celtic released a brief statement: "We're really sorry to have to release Eddie Jones. We drafted him for veteran leadership and he really wanted to play here for a shot at a ring before he retired. Eddie's a class act and has been ever since he stepped on an NBA court.  But he battled nagging injuries all last season, and despite getting himself right for this season, we felt we had to go with a slightly younger bench. It's just a numbers game."

When asked if he'd always regret taking Eddie Jones over Randy Livingston, a player he'd been tracking the entire 3-week draft and who went 2 picks after ORL took Jones, Gainesville Celtic slammed down the podium in a rage and stormed off without his usual "UBUNTU, Y'all!" sign-off.
