In response to each of the 6 recent cuts made by the Wizards in what pundits are already calling the "Monday Night Massacre", Coach Eddie Jordan had this to say:
Royal Ivey: " During the draft we thought we might have to deal Bassy, and we did, but we were not expecting to get a player of Delonte's caliber in return. Once we made the trade with Orlando, Royal became expendable. We were happy to see someone had a need for him as we think he is a valuable addition to any squad."
DJ Mbenga: " Getting rid of DJ was tough, but we're going young, some of these kids are going to have to mature and become leaders in their own right. If someone gets injured, we're taking him off wires. Don't eat too many Tacos DJ!"
Luc Mbah a Moute: " We had too many Small Forwards, I mean we forgot about one entirely. And not enough quality. Luc will be a good defensive stopper in this league, I just don't think he'll be much more.
Brandon Wallace: " We felt really bad, this kid gets on a team again undrafted, again off free agency and again cut. He has talent, someone must need a defensive minded SF with decent moves. Anyone..."
Dorrell Wright: " He kept polishing a championship ring he didn't earn."

Jason Thompson: " Really there were a lot of reasons to let Jason go. First, We have 3 project bigs in Blatche, Baby and Joakim, we didn't need a fourth. Second, we don't actually think he'll be that good. He'll be a decent big man, but how many dominate big men can you name that didn't have the ability in them to win a MAAC conference championship game on their own? None, they all would have done it. Flat out, we don't think Thompson is going to be that good. As to why we kept Kwame, he's a good athlete in our sixth big position. Someone gets hurt, we can plug Kwame in and get a solid off the bench Center. Honest to god, we don't understand why anyone wouldn't want Kwame Brown as their back up center."
