Throughout the movie
PI the lead character restates his assumptions throughout the movie as a way to add calm to chaos around him. My assumptions:
1. Boatloads of TPs to Wdleehi (and to a lesser degree the other Mods) for putting this all together. LOTS of work on their part, Lots of fun on my/other's part.
2. It's a game.
3. Hopefully we can all work together to make the most fun/good game possible.
4. When posting, be honest, Be willing to be wrong and admit it and/or correct mistakes.
5. Don't argue to win or for arguments sake, argue to get at the truth.. to the best answer.

Whether or not anything changes, i'd publicly ask LarBird to tone it down. You disagree, we get it. I've said that to him off-list, so i'm comfortable saying it here.
That said, and with all due respect to Wdleehi who's said he won't change his ruling, I'd also throw my 2 cents in for rescinding the Bosh veto. IMO there are 3 --and only 3 -- comparison points:
1. "Lopsided" deals --- IMO, the most lopsided deal has been:
Bobcats trade: 1st round pick (#11), 8th round pick (#23) and 14th round pick (#18)
Nuggets trade: 1st round pick (#17), 2nd round pick (#14) and 15th round pick (#17)
6 spots in the 1st round for a 2nd rounder? Yikes. But that wasn't vetoed and I agree with that decision. If DEN agreed to it, then that's on them, not CHA.
2. "Superstar" deals --- IMO, this is the best "data" we have. The closest parallels to the Bosh deal -- in terms of superstars getting traded AFTER being selected -- are these 3 deals. Iguodala, et al are not in this class, AND were not traded AFTER being picked, so those trades don't apply:
Tim Duncan:
ORLANDO sends rights to Kevin Durant, 3rd round pick (#13) and 5th round pick (#14)
LAKERS sends rights to Tim Duncan, and a 5th round pick (#1)
Dwayne Wade
Pistons send: Dwyane Wade, 4th rounder (17) 5th rounder (10) and 9th rounder (10)
to Cavs for: 2nd rounder (8 ), 3rd rounder (23), 4th rounder (8 ), 15th rounder (23)
Chris Bosh:
Wizards send: Chris Bosh
Warriors send: 3rd round (#3), 3rd round (#24), 4th round (#28)
Approx cost for Duncan: 1st*, 3rd, swap 5th (*Durant was chosen for Lakers as 1st round, then dealt)
Approx cost for Wade: 2nd, 3rd, swap 4ths, 5th (leaving out 9th/15th rounders)
Approx cost for Bosh: 3rd, 3rd, 4th
Duncan has 3 rings, Wade 1 ring, Bosh 1 all-star appearence. Each player fetched a 3rd, Duncan got a 1st too, Wade got a 2nd, so that Bosh, the lesser of the 3 players, g a 3rd doesnt' seem ridiculously off base. (NOTE: These deals were made totally independently of one another).
3. Rigidity of the rules --- Wdleehi was firm in (a) not letting DEN change their pick from Brand to Bosh, despite the fact no one else had picked yet and (b) in LAKERS missing their pick. In each instance i was fine with the Commish holding fast to the rules and had hoped that the top 4 GMs in the LAKERS #1 pick debacle coudl work it out among themselves.
So my undestanding was that the veto power -- while inherently subjective -- would be essentially a rubber stamp (see: goofy posts on MON of rubber stamp images). So to be less rigid on the "rules" -- especially since the Warriors GM has weighed in with, IMO, a convincing rationale for why the were making the deal (If in his shoes I only hope that I would be as creative)--- seems counter to past practice.
Therefore, with some trepidation in regards to fanning any flames, I would weigh in that the Bosh veto be lifted
Regardless of what happens,
this is my one and only post on this question. I will not respond to others' responses . I would further ask/suggest that unless folks have something new to add or haven't weighed in, other folks let it go and stop going back and forth over trying to prove this or that point. Simply state your opinion, weigh in if you want and move on. We need no more dead horses.
Ubuntu, y'all. Here's to a fun 3rd-15th rounds!
