In better news, one of the two missing 2nd round picks has been selected.

It just seems like before it was tough to veto trades before names were attached and now that they are it is more likely to seem lopsided.  I also think that if the picks in this case were used productively equal talent for bosh could have been found, but its tough.  I just have a very serious issue with the comment, "You couldn't convince me to make one trade last year, what makes you think this year would be any different."

Number 1 it seems way out of left field.
number 2 the tone of it doesnt seem very objective
number 3 seems like it is something that has been brewing long before this trade was submitted.....
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

If I wanted a power trip, I could have veto every lopsided trade you sent to me.

I could have ended this argument with my site powers.

But no, all I did was use my veto power on a one trade I found lopsided and did what I decided was best for the league.

You want to spend all this time complaining about decisions on picks and trades you are not involved in.

Use the site powers.  Do it... I shall sacrifice my lifeless message board posting account for the good of the 30 team CelticBlog draft.  Is nothing sacred in this world?

Do you have a point besides trying to stir things up?

I was not threatening anything.  I was showing how I could 'abuse my power' if I had wanted to.  But since I (and the rest of the staff) do not abuse my power, I find this a pointless argument from someone taking a game way to serious.

But this so call 'power trip' is the first use of my veto power after all the trades I approved.

That was related to this comment

I'm pretty certain that if you were involved in this league, I probably could have convinced you to trade Bosh for two 3rds and a 4th.   Seriously...

And as a GM last year, he could not talk me into a single trade.

That was in response to a comment LarBrd33 made, suggesting that he could have manipulated wdleehi into accepting a trade if he were a GM.  wdleehi was only noting that the two of them didn't make any trades last year, which casts LarBrd33's assertion into doubt.  I don't think it was out of line.

And yes, that's probably the "company line", but it's my personal opinion, as well.

I apologize didn't see the the context i guess.  Im sorry i missed the boat on that one, it was just a very charged individualized pointed comment at one member of the league and caught my attention

Do you think it's objective for a commish to ask the reasoning of the Wizards GM for making the Bosh trade?  Does he need to explain himself?

The only reason a commish should "veto" a trade would be if a poster is INTENTIONALLY ruining the game.  In other words... If I offer up Deron Williams, Yao Ming, Shawn Marion and Derrick Rose for a 15th rounder and 10 tommy points (which is on the table, btw...) out of spite for the league... then obviously... veto away... veto your stinkin heart out.   But it shouldn't be the place of the commissioner to say, "nah... i don't like the sound of Bosh for two 3rd rounders and a 4th".    AGAIN... what if the third rounders end up being Vince Carter and Chris Kaman and the 4th rounder ends up being Tayshaun Prince.  And... what if a week from now we find out that Bosh's back went out and he's out for the season?  Seems highly illogical and ridiculous to me.

Whooooose coming with me?   Whoooose with me?

let's simplify this.

What is my advantage to vetoing a trade?  Do I have a stake in this?  Can I win?  Can I steal a player for my team?

Where is my objectivity lost?

well put. wdleehi has putten in a lot of hours into this to try to make it as fun as possible, he's done an awesome job.

he made a decision based on the interest of the league. Why are we disputing a decision made by someone who so graciously has given his time to us?

I completely disagree with the decision, but it's over now let's move on. Robb needs to pick.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
