*going on vacation shortly

*still has to take care of the coaching staff

*very few calls from teams trying to get our players

*free agents want more $$, but if they can't get it, they want to play for a team that gets a lot of nationally televised games

*Doc, Danny and teammates (esp. Paul)love Tony Allen

*can't expect Giddens (#30 pick) to play significant role in rookie year, but from a talent standpoint, he is great ("a young Paul Pierce" in some regards)

*thinks Rondo will have a special year next season

*thinks the Celtics will be a better team next season

*Doc really wanted Eddie back

*best perimeter defender (statistically) in the playoffs was Paul Pierce (#2 Ray and #3 Posey); says Tony Allen is their best perimeter defender overall

*Rondo put up 300 jump shots the day after the Finals were over; Big Baby also working very hard to get minutes next year

*Bill Walker would've gone in the 20's or better in the draft if not injured

*Perk doing very good after surgery; will be 100% for training camp

*we have our top 9 guys in place

*thinks Patrick O'Bryant has a bright future and can do some things that no one else on the team can

*if the playoffs started today, he'd like to improve the center position

*no conversations about Devean George

good summary, TP. i like what he said about the center position and his comments about rondo show that rondo is still working hard, unlike pierce who hasn't picked up a basketball since his championship   ::)

Pierce also has to let his knee heal.

Jerry: what about Deven George? is he a possibility

DA: No, I've had no conversations with Deven.

Best part of it.

Why? I wish we could acquire Devean George. I'd feel alot better about him than Patrick O'Bryant.

That's actually not true.  I forgot to put it in my summary, but Danny also mentioned that Pierce was already starting up his routine again.  But as some have already mentioned, Pierce needed to let his knee heal a bit as well.  I think Pierce has a good enough track record where we shouldn't be questioning his off-season routines.  He always comes into the season ready to play.

well reports kept asking pierce and kg and the others, when are you going to pick up a ball again and start playing and they kept saying late july/early aug. and i know pierce wasn't shooting around the day after (even though he doesn't have to really improve). my rondo remark was sincere about his work ethic but the pierce remark was sarcastic.

I hear you, and that's the main reason why I mentioned the Rondo part from the interview.  No one would fault the guy for taking a few weeks off after such a long season, but for him to be shooting the day after winning it all, that just makes me even more excited to see how this guy is going to grow as a player in the years to come.

Lifetime TA averages 2.7 TO per 36 minutes, and 1.9 steals, for a net of -.8 possessions per game.  Pierce averages 3.0 TOs per 36 minutes and 1.6 steals per game for a net of -1.4 possessions per game.  Turnovers happen.

Yes, but the statistical comparison is misleading because Pierce has the ball in his hands much more than TA and is often doubleteamed, which TA isn't.

Yeah that one.

I think the point wdleehi is making is that you are mistaken.  The RealGM person credited CelticsWhat35 as being the guy that summarized Danny's interview.

Try to double check on these things before making these kinds of posts.
