Sort of the like the James Posey myth.

Averages 6.3 pts and 3.6 rbs during the playoffs

Shot 31% from 3's and 34% overall vs Detroit although he did comeback to average a whopping 8 pts a game 3 rbs in 25 minutes vs the Fakers.

House and Posey spread the floor even if they aren't shooting very well.

True.  However, Posey isn't playing a position where he's supposed to be bringing the ball up the court and creating for others, but is unable to do that.  Furthermore, while I'll concede that Posey's man to man defense is overrated, his team defense isn't.  And it's far superior to House's. 

You're right that House and Posey can still be valuable in spreading the floor even when they're cold; however, that's House's only value, whereas Posey has others.
