Danny said something in the papers today about taking some time off - let me know if he confirms that on air

I mean, the man deserves a break, but if he goes on vacation, that could signal that he's perfectly happy waiting till later in the summer to see who else shakes out of the market (ie. can't get the money they want elsewhere)

There was an article the other day about Danny leaving for vacation for two weeks starting next week.

I hope they ask about Patrick O'Bryant. I haven't heard DA talk about him yet.

The remainder of the MLE might not be used? "it really depends on who's available. right now we have our roster set."

Jerry: what about Deven George? is he a possibility

DA: No, I've had no conversations with Deven.

*going on vacation shortly

*still has to take care of the coaching staff

*very few calls from teams trying to get our players

*free agents want more $$, but if they can't get it, they want to play for a team that gets a lot of nationally televised games

*Doc, Danny and teammates (esp. Paul)love Tony Allen

*can't expect Giddens (#30 pick) to play significant role in rookie year, but from a talent standpoint, he is great ("a young Paul Pierce" in some regards)

*thinks Rondo will have a special year next season

*thinks the Celtics will be a better team next season

*Doc really wanted Eddie back

*best perimeter defender (statistically) in the playoffs was Paul Pierce (#2 Ray and #3 Posey); says Tony Allen is their best perimeter defender overall

*Rondo put up 300 jump shots the day after the Finals were over; Big Baby also working very hard to get minutes next year

*Bill Walker would've gone in the 20's or better in the draft if not injured

*Perk doing very good after surgery; will be 100% for training camp

*we have our top 9 guys in place

*thinks Patrick O'Bryant has a bright future and can do some things that no one else on the team can

*if the playoffs started today, he'd like to improve the center position

*no conversations about Devean George

Best part of it.

that's my favorite part

some options if Kurt Thomas doesn't sign here include Alonzo and PJ Brown - both of whom we'd have to wait several months before bringing in

Danny says he would like to improve center position.

Just throwing this out there, does anyone remember when Danny
first took over as the Celtics GM, he was being interviewed by the  guys on TNT and ZO was also part of the crew that night.
Danny said about ZO joining the C's, ZO says my favorite color is
green.  Now I know he was talking about money but now ZO is few years older his favorite color now might be gold. It's a stretch but I think with Danny looking to fill the backup center position with a vet like last year could ZO be the man.

I agree, that line about needing more size if the playoffs started today was key. A guy like 'Zo would fill the PJ Brown roll nicely. In terms of news, I hate to say it, but it looks like they're on cruise control for the rest of the summer.

Also, do you think he would've shot down Posey's defense like that if BGJ were still in Green?
Over the years, I've had hundreds of shots blocked. You've got to go in and take chances.

Basically, the Celtics are now in wait mode.

Pick up the vets that can't good contracts and tell them they could be the next James Posey that cashes in on playing for a Celtics title team.
