First of all, Marbury has a team already. Plus we have 2 definite PG and 2 combo guards. And the Knicks won't giveaway Marbury for FREE!
Second, you guys act like BirdMan is the "Chosen One" and he's not. What about if he relapses? Too Risky!
Third with Miles, can we risk a roster spot for a guy with two bad knees, and a guy who's a problem child. No Sir!

Dear WalkerWiggle - If I'm right - The max amount of players is 15?  12 dress.  11+2 rooks = 13.  Plus a Birdman or Miles, plus Marbury = 15.  IF I'm right on the 15 max!!!  I did say Birdman or Miles.

Finally, SW, having been born and raised with the BOSTON and the CELTICS, I loathe the NY 'attitude', but, House is a classic New York Product through and through, but how can you not love the guy on that dive play?  Telfair was another classic NY Product, but I was willing to give him a shot.  Maybe you can't teach Marbury new tricks - but he's a step up from Sam Cassell, and I view it as him replacing that roster slot - though he might not be known for his D, he can definitely run an offense more effectively for a short period of time than S.Cassell - Cassell just gunned it up and didn't think twice - so we might just have Cassell 2.0 in 2008, but Doc seemed to be good at sitting Cassell as soon as he started just chucking up his own shots w/out looking for other options.

I think if we added Kurt Thomas to this squad we would be set until the playoff run, then we can pick up a vet PG as security.

@ crownsy. It doesn't work that way. If either kid is playing in the NBDL he is still counted on the roster. It's only if one or the other plays overseas that a spot becomes available; neither Giddens nor Walker is likely to consent to that.

@Kgamble. Sorry the confusion is partly my fault - you're right that the roster limit is fifteen. But we've got twelve players currently under contract. (I originally wrote eleven.) So, who is it going to be: Giddens or Walker?

1)I love the idea of Kurt Thomas, I'd take him over Birdman or Miles, but, he is about 36 years old, and doesn't have tons of incentive to leave the Spurs (have they offered him a new contract?) since they are contenders also.

2)WalkerWiggle: so, plus two rooks, we only have one free roster spot!!!  That kinda makes me nervous, because I really did like the idea of a S.Cassell replacement (i.e. vet psuedo-pointgaurd) along with at least one more BIG.

I personally would prefer a big to a second S.Cassell.  In case Perk gets injured, god forbid Garnett gets a little banged up, we need someone who can for short periods come in and rebound, and hopefully bang or block shots.  I think Kurt Thomas would be great and would be closer to a P.J.Brown veteran presence, though I think if Birdman (who I by no means think is the second coming of anything), would be an adequate rebounder shot blocker.

Dear sweet Jesus, only one roster spot to fill!!! yikes.  Unless of course D.Ainge is working on trading either T.Allen or Giddens or B.Walker???

Yes, Kurt Thomas can be PJ's replacement. We have one remaining roster spot, and Marbury/BirdMan/Miles are just too risky. Kurt Thomas is the sure thing. For most of the regular season we can play our youngster to build their confidence. Near the playoff Kurt can take an active role sort off like PJ.

I believe that if we sign Giddens and Walker, we only have 1 more roster spot:

1 Rondo
2 Ray Allen
3 PP
4 KG
5 Perkins
6 Eddie House
7 TA
8 Scal
9 BBD
10 Powe
11 Patrick O'Bryant
12 Pruitt
13 Giddens
14 Walker

Now... if B. Walker agrees to play in Europe, then we have 2 spots. But not 3, and that's a big IF.

Finally:

Even if we were inclined, we don't seem to have the space for your suggestions.

I'm intrigued by Miles. Marbury is not needed with TA, House in the mix.

i understand that, it doesn't mean they have to be on your 13 "active" player roster to play in the D-league. much like pruitt did, you can be spot 14 or 15 and still go to the NBDL. im not sure what part of what i said, that they can be the 14th and 15th spots, "doesn't work"

Dear Mr October (I feel perverted saying that): with TA and House in the mix, we have what we had last year - and last year along with TA and House (given TA was still getting health) most people still felt the need to bring in a veteran pseudo-pointgaurd i.e. Sam Cassell.  I don't see why this year no one thinks we need to fill in that 'vet pg' role.  Nothing has changed, TA and House are still TA and House.  Though House showed in the playoffs he could do some PG duty for brief spurts.  I still think it'd be nice to have that Sam Cassell role player - and I think Marbury might be the closest you could get to that on the market - IF he isn't an idiot.

I'm only ok with getting Starbury if the C's only have to pay $19.95.
Think about it, that's how much his shoe costs, and it's essentially a bunch of garbage with the Starbury logo on it.
Now that Steph got the tattoo of the Starbury logo on his head, he's slightly more than a bunch of garbage with the Starbury logo on it.  He's a self-promoting bunch of garbage with the Starbury logo on it.

 ;D

I kind of want Starbury the more I think of it, but only under one circumstance- He gets a new giant shamrock over his starbury tattoo on his dome.  That would show that he wants to be a Celtic and IMO would boost his cred.
Truuuuuuuuuth!

It's pretty simple. if marbury gets cut, and we have roster space, we bring him in for minimum. If things don't work out, we cut him. No reason to discuss how he'd fit in here until he is actually available.

Some veteran play and leadership off the bench is definilty desired.

But that is not Marbury.

Kurt Thomas fits that role much better.
