Now that the team is shaping up, with the signing up of House and TA, I think this team would be completed by bringing in a gamble athletic and taller than Powe or Big Baby PF, such as Darius Miles (6'9 222lb) or Birdman Anderson (6'10 228lb).  To finally cap it off, I like the idea of Stephon Marbury (6'2 205lb)as a back up pointgaurd/perimter scorer running the offense when Rondo is out or if Rondo gets banged up.

With that I think this would be a solid team, minus Posey and most likely minus P.J.Brown, compensated for in different but nice ways with a veteran (if he can prove he's not an idiot) to back up Rondo (who deserves the ball much more the S.Cassell did!!!) and truly run the secondary (and great insurance if Rondo is out with an injury); and Birdman/Miles would lack the smooth class of P.J.Brown - the ultimate vet - but they'd bring (if functioning at something of what they once were) an electricity even if eratic that as I say, won't equal, but I think will in it's own different way adequately compensate for the loss of P.J.Brown.

Of course - nothing can replace the CLUTCH that both Posey and Brown demonstrated in the Playoffs, but Marbury has shown some clutch in his career, and well - P.J. Brown's most CLUTCH role in the playoffs was solid blocking out and rebounding, even if his 'clutch shooting' got the notice, let's be realistic about how much he scored in the playoffs - not taking anything away from P.J., but he wasn't some monster scoring machine, he just hit the shot when he needed to on the biggest stage - there is no reason to suggest someone else can't make up for the loss of PJ offensively - he wasn't the center of the offense ever, he just got the ball on rotation and put it in - same as Posey.  I don't think Marbury has proven to be clutch as Posey has - but has Marbury ever been on the BIG STAGE and had the chance?  He's in the regular season his some clutch shots in his career.

With all due respect, I'm having trouble figuring out if this is another satire thread...kind of hoping it is and that I just missed the 'rub' of the joke...

actually birdman was a decent defender before the coke bing, and may be worth the flyer.

to the other two, no.

to starbury, a million times no.

I would only be interested in miles. Birdman is a joke, Starbury is a joke.

I am not really interested in any of the 3; but I could see DA taking a flier on Miles.

If Miles is healthy there really is no downside to signing him to the Vet min.  Could be that 'big 3' some people are looking for.

I'm only ok with getting Starbury if the C's only have to pay $19.95.
Think about it, that's how much his shoe costs, and it's essentially a bunch of garbage with the Starbury logo on it.
Now that Steph got the tattoo of the Starbury logo on his head, he's slightly more than a bunch of garbage with the Starbury logo on it.  He's a self-promoting bunch of garbage with the Starbury logo on it.

I agree defense wins titles - but who is out there that fills a spot, will be able to get 5 to 15 minutes - and can play defense?  Birdman was a decent rebounder - and the C's need someone who can rebound, especially when Perk is out to take some of the pressure off of Garnett - Hopefully O'Bryan will do this.  B/W Birdman and O'Bryan hopefully we will get rebounder's who can block a few shots - Birdman was able to do that, and O'Bryan has shown some ability to do that.  Rebounding and Blocked shots, that is BIG defense.  Any suggestions who is available who can give us rebounds and blocked shots?

And, Marbury's defense will be THAT MUCH WORSE than S.Cassell's!!!  I'm not so sure about that.  The hope is b/w T.A., and the rooks (Giddens or Walker) some of Posey's defensive intensity/ability will be made up for.  Please do tell me who is out there that can replace Posey the defender?

Three worst suggestions possible - maybe - but you are a joker if you can't suggest a better alternative.

Heh, I'll sadly admit that to be the case if it comes true.

I'm not suggesting that it's implausible, but as you might have imagined from my initial response, it's an idea that strikes me as highly unpleasant as a Celts fan -- namely with regards to a certain Coney Island point guard.

Well, SW, it is implausible in one regard isn't it? Celtics currently have twelve players under contract and two rookies to sign. That scenario leaves us with only one open spot on the roster. KGamble, do you renounce the rights to Giddens or to Walker to gamble on one of Miles or Marbury?

Me, I don't like that idea.

i think the general idea if this crazyness happened would be to ship giddeons and walker off to the NBDL as the 14th and 15th roster spots, not renounce thier rights.
