Bonzi Wells?? Bonzi is the kind of player who can singlehandedly put his own team out of the playoffs. Give him 10 minutes in an elimination game and there's a good chance that he'll kill you. Darius Miles? Geez... he was already a bad player before a career ending injury and hasn't played a basketball game in 2 years.

It sounds ridiculous, but Tony Allen is one of the best unrestricted free-agents still available in the market right now. But I've trouble imagining a team winning the NBA finals with Tony as the 6th man.

As far as I know, we still have Tony Allen's bird rights.  If we want him, we can have him without giving him any of the MLE.   The reason we didn't extend him a qualifying offer was because we wanted to make sure we weren't stuck taking him in the event we didn't need him.  But we still have the capability of giving him money if we want.

I agree with you on Tony Allen being one of the best unrestricted free agents on the market. He's a potential steal for whoever lands him.

Disagree on Bonzi. I'd be pleased with adding Bonzi to the squad. He'd be a low cost one year addition and could add to the team. I'd be surprised if they had to pay more than 1-2mil which leaves them the pick of their big men and guards. Bonzi is a good player who could add something different to the squad.

i definitely like bringing TA back. sounds like he is not commanding much on the FA market.

and i think it is time to start putting JR and Walker on a crash course with TT and see if one of these guys can step to the plate. i'd rather watch those guys play than Bonzi or Barnes...

i also would sign Eddie so that we aren't changing too many things chemistry-wise....

I'm tossing Bonzi's name out there with little knowledge of how he's played recently. I just remember that one playoffs he had for Sactown, where he was solid.

My point was that I think the loss of Posey, while harsh right now, puts Danny back into his wheelhouse where he can pick off the scrap heap and create a deeper roster through youngsters and the overlooked guys.

Barnes sounds pretty good at a min deal. He can sink those tough 3 balls ...

Healthy TA sounds pretty good for driving the lane and playing D.

Except for the fact that he was a key reserve on a very good Hornets team that went to the second round.

I have said it before, I will say it again: Ricky Davis will not command much money, is actually a guy who could score the ball off the bench and can create his own shot and for others much better than Posey could. If there is any doubt to whether Davis would play hard or would be fine coming off the bench, consider his time in Boston - didn't complain about coming off the bench nor did he slack. Davis/Wells - both are possibilities.

Possibly, but I'd like the versatility.  It would be better to find a SG/SF to complement one of them as SF/PF, but I'm not sure who fits that mold.  I guess Tony, but man, I'm sick of Tony.

i'd rather use some of the MLE to sign Walker to a three year deal and leave the rest open for the season.....i'd honestly rather watch the rookies play and then try and finagle something during the season than rush and sign these guys...

i'd also prefer Eddie over Lue. i think he plays better D and he knows the system.

Tony Allen can't shoot.  That was something that Posey brought to the table and I think we need to find someone else that can do that as well.

The only thing about Ross is that he adds almost nothing offensively.  Our bench's biggest problem last year was scoring, and Ross doesn't help that.

If those two are in the books for another $6mil ($3mil each) in 09-10 then Danny probably can't spend the MLE nwxt summer. I'd rather passing on those two and spending the MLE next summer on serious quality.

By the way, I expect Barnes to be available for the minimum or close to it at the end of the day.
