We really need size off the bench.

I love Perk and we're lucky to have him, but he gets in foul trouble a lot and his shoulder keeps getting injured.

Pretty much all of our players are undersized (except KG). Rondo, Perk, Powe, BBD, and Pruitt are undersized.  :P (Ray and Paul are on the small side, too.)

Why didn't we draft Hardin, or some other big guy?

What happens if we have to face Dwight Howard or Ilgauskas in the playoffs next year, and Perk and KG are in foul trouble? Put two 6'8" players on them?

I don't think Ainge is finished yet. But as I look at the free agent bigs, I'm not impressed. Diop? Pollard again? Kwame Brown  :P? Brezzec? Kurt Thomas (he's too small)? Skinner (maybe)?

I don't think we can repeat if we don't get a defensive 7 footer.

I am extremely worried about being too small of a team.  We need BIGS!!!  We should haven't taken Hardin with one of the picks.

Very worried, especially when you look at the free agent pool for back up centers, as it is thinner than our bench.

I'm not worried about our size. I, myself, didn't want to address the big man situation through the draft. I want the team to address it through free-agency or trades, and at the moment we should be in a great position to make some trades.

Yes, we need size, but no, we did not need to address that with a late first or a second round pick.  Too lazy to see if there is any analysis out there, but I've always felt that the best position to get a steal late in the draft are SG/SF and undersized PFs.  PGs and Centers drafted so late pan out way less often.

Don't forget, we can always get a big or two via free agency, who wants a chance at a title.  I wouldn't want some raw 2nd round pick like Hardin being relied on come playoff time.

I think Danny's picks were perfect.  Two athletic swing men with HUGE upside.  After all drafting this late is always a gamble, but he's got 2 guys who could develop into quality starters some day.  Hardin's ceiling is a career backup or barely marginal starter at best.

It's way too early to be concerned with anything like that.  This team still has a good deal of tweaking and filling holes to do this summer.

As for the undersized thing, Perk is not undersized.  Although he is not 7', his long arms make up the difference.  Pruitt also is tall for a PG...and Pierce and Allen are both average at worst for their positions.

Not to mention Pierce, Perk, and Rondo all play significantly bigger than their actual size.

I am sure we will bring in another PJ Brown type player.

It's funny cause all I heard is how much bigger we were than the Lakers.

Why didn't we draft Hardin, or some other big guy?

Because Ainge didn't feel they were good? Drafting for need can be a bad thing. You are not going to solve any holes right away with the 30th pick.

What happens if we have to face Dwight Howard or Ilgauskas in the playoffs next year, and Perk and KG are in foul trouble? Put two 6'8" players on them?
Hardin ain't guarding them either.

I don't think Ainge is finished yet. But as I look at the free agent bigs, I'm not impressed. Diop? Pollard again? Kwame Brown  :P? Brezzec? Kurt Thomas (he's too small)? Skinner (maybe)?
Well they'd be better than anyone you were getting in the draft.

I don't think we can repeat if we don't get a defensive 7 footer.

Garbage. I heard we couldn't win with Rondo at the point.

i was surprised at not drafting deandre jordan... he's a 7 foot backup center and we need one of those.

I would rather have Hardin instead of relying on two inexperience tweeners with questionable health and decision making.  We could of kept Tony Allen instead.

Size is definitly a need and something I was hoping for in this draft but it's too early to be worried about it.  The Bench changed a lot between the draft and training camp last year.  Given, there doesn't seem to be as much flexability this year but I'm sure Danny has some moves he's looking to accomplish.

How confident were we all with our big man situation at the beginning of last season when Scott Pollard and Scal were our backup big men with Powe and BBD? Everyone needs to relax because I'm sure Danny will bring in a veteran big man to fill the void left by PJ.

Yeah we definitely have a size deficit.  DA said PJ Brown is leaning hard towards retirement.  Diop (who I think would've been a good fit) is set to go back to Dallas.  That leaves Lorenzen Wright (who I happen to like) and the others you mentioned not so much.  We've shored up our wing positions in this draft so I'm thinking TA is gone and Scals is gone by trade (if we can find a taker).  I agree we need some more bigs via trade or free agency.

Everyone was worried about this last year too. Then our bench outplayed the Lakers bench by miles in the NBA finals. There's a long way to go before the season starts I can't believe people are actually worried about this after what we saw last season.

If you win the NBA finals, players will find a way to play for you.

NO

Size off bench:

We just added what we lacked against atl

we must sign posey.

Powe is not small off the bench. Baby is wide off the bench

We have a 7'1" pf named Garnett, so 6'9" wide or 6'9" with long arms centers next to him work just fine

PJ isn't gone yet

However, I agree that the time is coming where we will have to pick Powe or Baby to stay and trade the other one for a LONG low post gut to back Perk. A guy like PJ. There is time to do all this

what about Anderson Varejao from the cavs. he is available and is exactly what we need off the bench. tall and long, good rebounder and shot blocker.how about bbd, t allen, and scal. those salaries should match and the cavs want to get rid of him bad.
