Cheap replacement to Tony Allen with a lot of similar attributes.

Off the court problems....

That'll be gone real quick when he gets dunked on first practice by proven veterans wearing Championship rings

Walker,

I do love his rebounding.  But the FT% just can't be overlooked.  As a 23 year old, it points to serious problems.  It basically means you can't shoot (it's worse than Rondo for crying out loud).  And/or he doesn't/won't work on it, as if he had a great shooter within him, coaches would have corrected this by now.  It's just so [dang]ing.

We're going to regret passing on CDR/Chalmers.. I'll bet good money on it.

dude - you made your point, let it go. lets remember that chalmers was slated to go in the mid 2nd round a week and a half ago, and wouldn't even be a big consideration had he not come up big in the tourney. CDR would have been nice, but the way he fell you gotta believe something's wrong with him. if joey dorsey get's picked before the best player on his own team, there's gotta be something else going on.

i think we should take a few deep breaths, remember that we're the world champions, and welcome our new terrible-free-throw-shooting-head-case to the team.

I knew this was coming, but I'll assume you're joking.

We really, really, really need some size off the bench.

It seems like all the good teams (except Detroit) have huge front courts. All the Celtics are undersized except KG. Rondo is, Ray is (slightly), Pierce is (slightly), Perk is, Powe is, BBD is, House is, TA is.... Pruitt is an undersized shooting guard. right now, our biggest guy off the bench is 6'8" (maybe). No way are we repeating if we don't get another PJ Brown type (defensive 7 footer). NJ and Toronto are in our division and they just got a whole lot bigger. LA, Phoenix, Cleveland, Orlando, etc. all have bigger teams.... Argh.

I wish we would have drafted Hardin. He's a great shot blocker....

Ha. Chalmers just got traded for a future 2nd round pick. I guess he wasn't that much of a steal.

* Well, now its 2 Second round Picks

Here here!  Won a chip w/o him, can win one w/ him.  Besides, I really think terrible-free-throw-shooting-head-case-ness can't last long around Ray Ray.

My analysis of Chalmers has little to do with all of that.  I trust advanced statistical analysis by various sources, who constantly outperform GMs/draftexpress (garbage)/etc.

I'll almost guarantee CDR fell because he's awkward mechanically while everyone ignores he scored with great efficiency through 3 years of college.

I have not seen him play, but his stats (especially rebounding, not so much FT%), dunks and physique are impressive.  People have been saying that the Celtics' weakness is athleticism and this guy looks like he has it.  I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.

I'm also curious about how he got stabbed in the calf in a bar fight.  I know he is tall, but that is odd.  Maybe he was doing a roundhouse kick or fighting little people?

WOW! we will have another slam dunk champ soon. He jumps as high and fast as vince carter. I'm excited.

He was a co mvp in his division(which wasn't the highest) and led almost in all categories like pts, steals, assist and rebounds at 8.0 + =]
