I hate the JaVale McGee pick. Most overrated player in the draft. I just don't see it. Odds of him being a useful player in this league are 20% or less. Wasted pick for Washington who are a team desperate for some legitimate help especially in the paint or defensively. He brings neither. Dumb.

Portland has made some great moves tonight ... they're quickly becoming the biggest "winner" here so far.

There's only one reason I don't agree with this: DeAndre Jordan.

Check out the last pic of McGee on this page: he looks like an athletic Obama:

Portland is going to be Scary good.  Bayless is the perfect fit for them.

Now that they have their PG, it is only a matter of time that they turn Raef, and a couple young guys into Shawn Marion.

And wow, Hickson just went, while Arthur and Koufos are still on the board.  Those two are going to be significantly better players than Hibbert, Hickson, Thompson, and Randolph.  WOW.

Darrell Arthur has a huge amount of work to do. I don't understand why all the experts/analysts have him so highly. If he were on NC State like Hickson he'd be at the rear end of the first round.

I'm surprised some team hasn't bought the hype though.

JJ Hickson feels like a reach but he's an interesting pick. It could be a good move for Cleveland.

Robin Lopez at 15? Is Kerr trying to be a worse gm than Jordan? Seriously Simmons could do better.

I agree with the talk on Portland, good young team just got even better.

Is that condemnation of McGee or Jordan?

DeAndre Jordan has a better chance of being a role player in the NBA. He can be a Brendan Haywood/Darko Milicic. Jordan has NBA size. McGee doesn't. It'll be easier for him to compete. That in between range between stardom and bust is far larger for Jordan.

Chris, I can't agree on Koufos. I saw 4 games of him and he didn't make a single contested shot, playing against college players, most of them +3 inches shorter than him. Bust.

Robin Lopez is an athletic defensive-minded center who can finish on the break. Maybe not the best possible pick, but a pretty solid one I think for the Suns.
