Great pick for the Blazers. I'm predicting him to be a top-6 player from this draft in a few years.

Also, am I the only Celtic fan who thinks that Mario Chalmers could be a good fit for us at #30?

Not good, outstanding. Not happening, though.

Phew, at least there's somebody else out there who likes this kid too.
He has received like ZERO hype on this board.
I was talking about him for a while before the draft but all I heard were the crickets.

Well NBA DraftExpress has Chalmers going in the late 20's, and he hasn't been getting a lot of press/hype either, so who knows, it could happen at #30.
The real question is, does Ainge like him too?

He doesn't get hype because he isn't flashy and doesn't have "upside". But he'll be a solid backup/fringe starter in the league for many years.

Chalmers reminds me of Posey but at the PG position.  He's not the most athletic guy, but he plays tenacious defense, shoots the long range shot well, and could become a valuable backup player.  I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him in Green.

Oh does anyone have a read on DeAndre Jordan?  He's still floating around, a 7 footer to spell Perkins?  He's a bit young though, listed as age 19.

I'm glad Hibbert is off the board. He can have Ike Diogu's 10.2 mpg in Indiana.

Here's ESPN's details on the Portland-Indiana trade:

"The Blazers will send the rights to Rush and Jarrett Jack to the Pacers for the rights to Bayless and Ike Diogu."

I would be surprised if Hibbert even sees the floor this season.  Jim Obrien is going to HATE him.
Very high chance of that happening. Obie has been involved with the process. How did this happen?

  • The good ole days.
Has this Portland-Indiana trade been mentioned???

Bayless and Diogu for Rush and Jack.

Portland needed a point guard to fill out that team and just landed a possible stud.  Should work well next to Roy, who is a great distributor than can score, while Bayless is a great scorer than can distribute.

Thoughts?

Maybe it will be Larry's turn to chip into the Celtics cause?

Always liked this kid ... I think he's a bit under-rated, too.

The Blazers will send the rights to Rush and Jarrett Jack to the Pacers for the rights to Bayless and Ike Diogu. I think this is a great pick for the Pacers. Rush should be a great fit in the backcourt with T.J. Ford because he defends, shoots the ball and has great size in the backcourt. Rush is one of the most NBA-ready players in the draft.

Chad Ford

Bird is gets three very polished NBA-ready players in this draft: Rush, Jack, Hibbert ( I think Hibbert can fit Obieball offensively; they'll have to figure out a way of protecting him in defense and slow the tempo a little bit - something O'Brien was already doing during the final part of last season).

That's a steal for Portland. Diogu isn't good enough to make their rotation, cut him loose.

Jarret Jack and TJ Ford. Interesting combination at the point guard. And Travis Diener steps back to third string again, he'll love that.

Brandon Rush and Kareem Rush next to one another. Nice. Brandon is a fantastic pickup for the Pacers. Rush/Dunleavy/Granger is a lovely combination on the wings.

Okay... I see that was posted a page and a half ago.  I should've known... you guys are on top of it.

I think Brandon is being kind, even though his brother's in Indiana, I think he wanted to stay in Portland.
