Despite rumors swirling to the contrary, Anthony Davis wants to be a part of what the Washington Wizards are building according to team president Michael Winger.

"My conversations with AD are delightful. He's a pro's pro. He understands who he is in this league, he understands the direction of this league, he understands what we're trying to do organizationally," Winger said. "He's communicated to me a strong interest in being part of what we're building - He, like the rest of us, wants to be on a really good basketball team and compete for something big. That's our aim, that's what we want to do, and I?m delighted that Anthony's here for that."

Anthony Davis made clear Monday that the Washington Wizards must present a credible path to contention this summer, setting up what figures to be one of the NBA offseason's most consequential front office conversations.

Davis said he plans to meet with Monumental Basketball president Michael Winger and general manager Will Dawkins in the coming months to evaluate the franchise's competitive timeline.

AD went on to say he won't demand a trade / force his way out. Although it sounded like he would be open to moving. But won't force the issue. That he will stay and play in WAS next season.

"I've been in this league a long time, and I've been with losing teams, been on losing teams," Davis said. "It's very hard to be a losing team and then a championship contender, right? I think one team has only done it: Boston in '08.

Even when I was in New Orleans and we had two losing seasons, then we made the playoffs our third year - that, within itself, is a huge jump. What is our plan for winning going into next season? And how? Not like this is a plan, but how do we execute that? And based on that, we'll kind of see what happens."

That sounds like he would be happy with their plans to improve / make the jump to being a playoff caliber team. Trae, Kyshawn George, Dybantsa, AD, A Sarr. That should be a playoff team.

Despite a rocky initial perception of the franchise, Davis said his concerns faded quickly after arriving.

"I can personally say now it's not what people think or what people make it seem," Davis said. "Yes, the losing is part of it, so people kind of tie that with the organization. But the organization within itself is totally different from what people think they're seeing."

"In the summer, right now, I'm going to compete, train and have the mindset that I will be here next year. Not only because I'm under contract, but also, I like these young guys. I ain't going to lie. I feel like they're all my children."

No matter what happens with Giannis I am going to be extremely annoyed by the inevitable people who will claim they knew what was going to happen the hole time.

There have seemingly been 2 options cine the start: Boston or Heat. Which ever one gets him there will be people going: "Well I told you he was going there....." I've seen accounts on twitter predicted a Giannis trade every day for two week who will take a victory lap sharing their latest tweet after he's traded even though they've been wrong 10 times already.

I think that a lot of people legitimately thought that Boston could make a compelling offer for Giannis based around JB, and started talking about it around last year's trade deadline.  It doesn't make them geniuses or expert prognosticators, but they saw a fairly obvious way to potentially upgrade the team.  I don't think it was a prediction at that point so much as wishful thinking.

I have to say that, from my own perspective, I am shocked that no other team has gotten involved.  I'm not sure if teams are scared by the CBA or are enthralled with their own prospects, but we are still talking about a multi-time MVP.  For a team like Houston, for instance, I have no idea why they wouldn't offer Sengun.

Haynes is saying the Celtics are the frontrunners for Giannis now. He's not Shams/Stein/Himmelsbach but I do consider Haynes more in the loop than some of these other "reporters".

Starting to think I won't sleep tonight, this thing could drop at like 3 AM whether he goes Miami or Boston

I am watching a Byron Scott podcast. Michael Cooper & Olden Polynice is on. Polynice mentioned a rumour I had not come across. He was talking about a Jamal Murray to Toronto trade rumour that he saw (somewhere).

I don't think anything comes of it but I thought it was a fun rumour worth sharing.

Polynice wanted the Lakers to go after J Murray. Try to trade Austin Reaves for him. Polynice not the biggest Reaves fan due to his bad defense. Loves Murray. B Scott and Coop love Murray too. They thought DEN's GM would get fired if they traded Murray. Coop and Byron agreed Reaves is a bad defender but they thought he tried and liked him a lot overall.

Clearly something.  NBA rules require it to be an unprotected 2nd round pick at the minimum.
