I would be shocked if Jaylen is traded. Absolutely stunned.

I'd place the odds of Jaylen being traded at 1%.

I don't think there is any package out there that gives Stevens value for him. That is why I don't expect a trade.

The only way I see Jaylen leaving is if he kicks up a fuss and forces his way out. Even then, Stevens would be best off just letting him cool down and reintegrate Jaylen into the team in training camp. All will be well. Even in a Jaylen trade demand situation. And I don't think he will demand a trade.

Zion for JB would probably my favorite "shake it up" trade at this point.

High risk but it would force a big change in the way we play.

But the team's biggest challenges are replacing the Jrue and Horford spots. The additional ball handling, passing, shooting and defense those two provided at 1 and 5. The bookends. So much of the team's success stemmed from the way they completed the lineup.

If Giannis was risky, what is Zion?

The weight loss drugs make me somewhat more bullish on Zion's health for the next 3 years.

I just like the way he plays: the constant pressure on the rim. How dangerous that would be next to Tatum, White and Pritchard.

I just don't think Zon is actually all that good anymore. He was interesting when young because of nuclear athleticism and the idea that maybe he develops a shot. I think he's just gonna settle into sub-all star level solid production type stuff and that's putting aside health and character concerns.

Shams Charania: "I am told the hard conversations between these two sides have started. This has been a long relationship between Jaylen Brown and the Celtics. It has been mostly fruitful when you think about the success that these two sides have had. But I am told here, as we are hours away from the NBA draft, the Boston Celtics have started to listen, engage and discuss trades around Jaylen Brown. Sources tell me the Celtics are speaking to teams right now about Jaylen Brown. In 2022, the Celtics offered Jaylen Brown for Kevin Durant. Last summer, the Celtics did listen to trade offers for Jaylen Brown as they were trying to figure out how to shed salary under the aprons."

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Engaging and discussing is certainly more substantial than "listening".

And I don't think he will demand a trade.

don't be.

I'm not saying under any circumstance JB is a goner, but cooling down regarding the trade talks is hardly the main issue.  If Stevens can find the right deal, we will part ways.

I beeive he also said they aren't actively shopping him, which would lead me to believe he hasn't demanded a trade or anything.

Jayeln being up for a 70mil per year extension.  You can get 3 above average starters for that price. Also the fact that he wants to be the #1 on a team that has a better and younger option for #1.

MattyIce has implied before on this forum that he has some sort of inside information about a gap between the Celtics and JB, and I would highly doubt the issue is salary-related.
