Time for a change?

If Giannis main reason for wanting to be traded is that he is looking to win another championship, how can he believe that is possible in Miami. Pairing himself with Bam is not good enough and the Heat would be gutting their team to get him.

A Miami starting 5 of: Mitchell, Powell, Wiggins, Giannis, Bam isn?t winning anything.

A Boston starting 5 of: Pritchard, White, Hauser, Tatum, Giannis is a contender.

It's not, but it also depends what team is actually making a competitive offer. For example, if Boston isn't including Jaylen and the Cavs aren't including Mobley, who else has an offer that's better than Miami's? Miami's offer can easily be outbid but there has to be teams willing to make them. Maybe Portland and others can, but the hurdle there is it seems Giannis is only open to signing an extension with Miami and Boston, based on reports. In that case, POR also wouldn't give up a ton for potentially a rental.

So what is the main reason for wanting a trade? I get there may be some ancillary reasons, but I thought winning another championship was the main motivation.  As you mentioned, if Giannis isn?t open to an extension with say Portland, they are not going to give up much for him. Feel like Giannis has all the leverage in terms of where he ends up. If he chooses Miami he is a fraud. They could not even make the playoffs!

I'm kind of with Moranis though, the reporting on this has been sus considering the C's are usually tight-lipped. A lot of the recent reporting has come from Miami's side it seems. Makes me wonder too if maybe they truly are just trying to drive up the price, or they might have interest in being involved as a 3rd team where they don't get Giannis, but other assets/players?

Which they should be doing. Bobby Portis would be an interesting backup forward. Myles Turner an interesting starting center with Queta staying as his backup. Ryan Rollins could be an interesting defensive guard for the team as either a starter or reserve.

It's weird lol. I wonder if Giannis thought the Knicks were a real possibility but now they aren't. If Boston or Cleveland don't swoop in, he has to decide if Portland or Miami is the best shot to win a championship and other logistics. In that instance, it's gotta be Miami. OR he just chooses to remain with Milwaukee but at that point the bridge has to be burned.

Brown knows his name is being floated all over. He still is p---ed about the KD stuff 4 years ago. My fear is he will be an absolute poison pill if he has to stay in Boston.

Maybe Brad has other deals lined up for JB...I just can't see them being able to smooth things over this time.

And I agree...the Heat roster is not very good that Giannis wouild go to. Bam is so overvalued by Miami and their fans. Good player but he is not leading anyone to a title. Powell is a UFA. Wiggins is ok. Mitchell stinks.

Another thing to consider is, Jaylen is extension eligible. If the C's offer it to him (2/142M), Jaylen will 1000% take it and stay here even if he's upset. So we need to also see what happens on that front.

Another thing to consider is, Jaylen is extension eligible. If the C's offer it to him (2/142M), Jaylen will 1000% take it and stay here even if he's upset. So we need to also see what happens on that front.

That is my biggest issue. Having to pay Brown $70 mill a season is a ton. Esp. for a guy that usually does not play great in the playoffs.
