Try to find a team that will trade a 2026 or 2027 first-round pick to Miami for Andrew Wiggins. 2). Amend the protections on the first-round pick due Charlotte. That first-rounder is lottery protected in 2027 and unprotected in 2028. If Heat waives the protections and Charlotte agrees to accept an unprotected Heat pick in 2026 or 2028, that would free up a third first-rounder to trade to the Bucks.

Davion Mitchell, Powell, Jacquez, Bam and Giannis? That?s not a championship caliber team. If I?m Giannis, I?d force my way to the Knicks. KAT and and however many firsts it takes for Giannis. Bucks can flip KAT for more firsts.

Brunson, Hart, Bridges, OG and Giannis is a contender. Hopefully that trade doesn?t happen, though. Would be a tough team for the Celtics to beat.

I don't know what the test for a contender is, but having Giannis plus two All-Stars in Miami seems like it would be a good foundation.  Plus, they may be able to hang on to Wiggins.

What don't you like about Bam?

Feel like Bam hasn?t improved much offensively over the last 5 years. He can?t really take over on that end. Defense is solid, but he?s undersized as a center. Heat are only a few games over .500 and they have arguably the best coach in basketball. Team just doesn?t seem good enough to contend even with Giannis, IMO.

Davion Mitchell has been doing a good job for them. I have been surprised by how well he has played since joining Miami but he continues to maintain his level player.

* One of the top defensive PGs in the league.

* Offensively. A solid ball-handler. Low mistake player on offense. Only 1.7 turnovers against 7.2 assists per game. Over a 4:1 AST:TOV ratio. Moves the ball. Keeps everyone involved. Keeps his teammates happy. A reluctant shooter but is making the shots he takes at 47% FG 40% 3PT. 9ppg in just under 30mpg.

I think you can win with Davion Mitchell as your starting PG. Team orientated. Top defender.

Not really sure why Giannis would want Chicago. I guess they could in theory though offer a much better package than those other teams (MIA, GSW, MIN).

My prediction is Miami or he stays put this season. Interesting to note, an arbitrator ruled Rozier's contract can be "active", so it could be used in trades/transactions. Obviously MIA would have to offer up more in young players, but that's a significant salary-matching piece potentially.

Well they'd have Turner, Portis, Randle, and Reid with no guards (I am not impressed with Rollins). How about they flip Reid to us for Simons?

Would love that idea, and I think he'd fit well within our style of play well and is on the Jays' timeline. He's also reasonable long-term money for a starting level center at $25M, which Milwaukee likely doesn't want either. Would something like this framework work:

Milwaukee: Randle, Simons, Minnesota Unprotected 2032 1st, Protected 2030 1st, Any Other Minnesota 2nd Rounders They Want, and then probably a Boston pick (2026 1st Round Pick and/or the NOLA 2nd Round Pick We Own?)

Minnesota: Giannis

Boston: Reid, Trent Jr.

That'd leave us with the following roster to build:

PG: PP/Trent Jr.
SG: White/Hugo/Scheierman
SF: Brown/Walsh/Minott
PF: Tatum/Hauser/Garza
C: Reid/Queta

I like it. Our guard rotation is thin, but that can be bolstered in the buyout market or through other minor trades or signings, even if in the offseason. The question is whether this is enough for Milwaukee to deal him now rather than wait for the offseason when more picks will be available? Not sure about that. Think you'd need Giannis to demand to go there and there not be other major offers on the table.
