Possible Redemption Arc

Given that the Dallas Mavericks look like pivoting to a rebuild, I was curious if the Celtics front office had the stomach for a Kyrie Irving reunion.

There should not be much of a market for Irving. If you factor in his age & injury history, a trade may only take Simons and Hauser (perhaps a few second round picks).

The Celtics would have to wait until mid December to trade for Irving due to his contract extension in the offseason. Because he is out for the season (recovering from ACL surgery), an Irving trade might actually help the Celtics this season in their quest for better draft lottery odds.

I am not a fan of Irving and his attitude, but in saying that he has matured over the past couple of years.

Nah. His age does not work with the core we are  working with (Tatum-Brown-White), and he had his shot back in the day.

I have been impressed with Kyrie's growth since going to Dallas. He is a much better team player today than he was during his tour here in Boston. He doesn't overdribble as much. He doesn't break plays. He doesn't overdo it in isos. He shares the ball more. He plays like a true PG.

I'd be happy to bring him back here. He would be a good 3rd scorer behind the Jays. His shooting ability & ball-handling would have a major additive effect to the team's offense.
