This must be what it was like to play against Bill Russell's Celtics. He would anchor the defense, create extra possessions and facilitate the offense. The scoring come from anywhere. Stars, other starters, bench players. You would never know exactly where. Then Bill would chip in with some of his scoring & passing. Just steadily anchoring the team and putting his teammates in a position to succeed.
Wemby doing the same thing. He is not driving San Antonio's offense. He is a cog in the offense. Not the engine. Like B Russell. But Wemby, like Russell, is the engine on defense.
