If Ball really doesn't remember the play because he was hit in the head, someone on the Charlotte staff needs to be fired for missing a possible concussion.

Sources: NBA to review Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball for taking out ankle of Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo in 2nd Q, resulting in hard spill and back injury that cost him rest of crucial do-or-die play-in contest. Ruling expected before Hornets? final play-in bout on Friday.

I'm sure Heat fans are thrilled. Meanwhile the refs yesterday didn't even take a look at it after for flagrant and/or ejection. It was a dirty play by Ball

The replays were clear.  Ball grabbed his ankle and yanked it, resulting in the fall.  Adebayo only played 11 minutes.  This clearly impacted the result of the game.  Not much you can do at this point.  I doubt Ball gets suspended over this.  It should have been a flagrant foul, but it probably would not have been an ejection.

Ball may say that he was just trying to not get stepped on.  But that is not how it looked to me.

Meh. I've see a lot of replays of it with the volume off and didn't once think it looked dirty until I heard the commentary around it.

Ball does not have a history of doing things like this. If it was Draymond Green or Dillon Brooks, maybe he gets suspended. But Ball is kinda' soft. This isn't his MO.

The only reason I could see a suspension would be due to Riley's influence in the league office, but I didn't see anything.

Agreed. Also, considering the circumstances and how quickly it happened, I don?t think he meant to undercut Bam. The replay does look bad, but I don?t think he should be suspended for it. If he had a history, that would be a different story.

Crazy Stats: Bad stats leaders (totals) ... you really don't want to be a leader here: Turnovers - Jaylen Brown Missed Field Goals - Tyrese Maxey/Jaylen Brown Blocks Against - Jaylen Brown Lost Balls - Paolo Banchero Traveling Violations - Jalen Johnson Backcourt Violations - Anthony Edwards 3 Second Violations - Nikola Jokić Stepping Out of Bounds - Norman Powell Goaltending Violations - Kel'el Ware Offensive Fouls Committed - Karl-Anthony Towns Charges Committed - Karl-Anthony Towns Personal Fouls - Wendell Carter Jr. Disqualifications - Karl-Anthony Towns/Wendell Carter Jr. Technical Fouls - Dillon Brooks Flagrant Fouls - Rudy Gobert

That said, per game stats make more sense, since these punish guys that play more games.  But interesting all the same.

Well, I hope JB can clean up the turnovers now that the postseason is here. If he doesn?t, it?s likely going to cost the Celtics wins.

Usually in these 7 vs. 8 games with Boston as the 2 seed, I have a team I root for as an easier opponent. This year, idk, both are beatable and have unique flaws. I guess I can just watch as a neutral for once

There was a rumor earlier in the day that Skip Bayless said Embiid could return if he wanted to soon but he's just choosing not to. A lotta people thought he was making it up and that Embiid needs more time. But even in tonight's broadcast, they've said multiple times Embiid probably could go at some point in the first round, but it's "his call"

Makes you wonder... is Embiid just choosing to stay out? An appendectomy typically has on average a 20-24 day recovery period afterwards, which is approximately 3-ish weeks. Embiid got it a week ago. He probably could have a chance to play beyond Game 4 or 5 if it gets to that point but I wonder if Embiid is just saying "nah I'm gonna sit out, no point in coming back"

Honestly maybe Philly isn't so bad, because Orlando is already trying to muck up this game too. Suggs basically tried to yank and throw Edgecomb to the ground in frustration after that make, and Bane + others have been physical all game. Would want to avoid that against our guys

And the refs have let ORL play physical all game which is why they have so many FT attempts

First three meetings between BOS/PHI this season, the game was decided by a total of 4 points. Division rivals and historic rivalry. Going to be rowdy. Gotta gameplan against Edgecombe and Maxey. And ensure Pandemic P remains the same in the postseason. This potential series look like it may go 6 games
