Apparently, tonight will be the first time the Grizzlies franchise has ever been on NBC.   NBC had the contract the first 7 years the franchise was in existence.

The NBA fined the Cleveland Cavaliers  $100,000 for violating the league?s Player Participation Policy when the team held Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley out of the team?s game against the Miami Heat on Nov. 12 for rest.

5 guys are separating themselves as MVP candidates

* Jokic - 29ppg 13rpg 11apg 74% TS
* Giannis - 31ppg 11rpg 7apg 66% TS
* L Doncic - 34.5ppg 8.5rpg 9apg 62% TS
* SGA - 32ppg 5rpg 7apg 66% TS
* Wemby - 26ppg 13rpg 4apg 61% TS

These guys are having sensational seasons. All playing at an MVP level. I don't think anybody else is on their level. They have separated from the pack.

If Lebron plays like he did last night the Lakers are going to be a legit threat to the Thunder. 30 mpg just 7 shots making 4 (2 of 3 from deep) for 11 points, but facilitated all game adding 12 assists with just 1 turnover.  If he plays the facilitator role and picks his shots he is going to be uber efficient and the Lakers will be very difficult to beat.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah

Atlanta without Trae, Porzingis & Risacher last night. Lost by 8 to Detroit. That Hawks team is like a revolving door of starters missing games due to injuries.

* Trae has missed 10 games
* Porzingis has missed 6 games
* Risacher has missed 3 games
* NAW & Jalen Johnson have missed 2 games.

Okongwu and D Daniels the only 2 of their top 7 to play all 15 games thus far. And Risacher looks like he has been on a minutes restriction most of the season due to injuries.

Overall, their top 7 has missed 22% of their games. 23 missed games out of 105 games (7 players by 15 games).

A couple of landmarks for Lebron last night.  He became the forst player to play in 23 seasons (passing Vince Carter's 22),  He also passed Reggie Miller on the All Time 3 pointers made list, which is just crazy.
Yup

Mitchell is getting shut down by Houston.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Indiana go back to their pace and space lineup and get their 2nd win of the win of the season.

G: Nembhard, McConnell
G: Mathurin
F: B Sheppard, J Walker
F: Siakam, Jay Huff
C: I Jackson, J Earl Robinson

That is a solid 8 man rotation. I don't think much of J Earl Robinson.

Portland were without their starting guards Jrue Holiday & Shaedon Sharpe against Chicago. Scoot Henderson still out also. So without their top 3 guards. What do they do? Screw guards! We're playing 4 forwards and a big center.

G: D Avdija
G: S Cissoko
F: T Camara
F: Jerami Grant
C: D Clingan

D Clingan had 17pts and 21reb. He had 10 offensive rebounds. That is incredible.

Avdija had 32pts 11reb 11ast 2stl 1blk and won his duel with Josh Giddey who offered only 9pts (3-9 FG) 13ast 5reb. Interesting matchup. Two guys going for their 1st All-Star appearance this season.

Chicago played 12 guys. J Phillips played 5min. The other 11 guys all played double digit minutes. Chicago had a 16pt heading into Q4 then pushed it to a 21pt lead 3min into Q4. Ended up losing. Collapse. POR 13-0 run in next 3min to make it an 8pt game with 6min to play.

Portland had no bench amid their injury crisis at guard. The coach only trusted two players. Kris Murray who is looking good this year got 35min. Undrafted rookie combo guard Caleb Love got 18min but shot 1-12 FGA. Three guys got short minutes (single digits).
