What's even more frustrating is that I still don't think New York really did anything to us defensively to make our offense that bad. We were literally just not hitting wide open shots and had nothing else to turn to.
I would disagree. They made it very difficult to attack the basket and contested everything. They also got up tight on Jaylen and exposed the weakness with his handle.
Their defense has been excellent to date - though the C's have cooperated by forgetting how to make shots.

The Jays and our guards couldn't penetrate because they tried to slowly and deliberately attack the defender, rather than pass and attack. The Knicks have figured out how to prevent the penetration and basically just invited the Cs to shoot from 3s.
As Joe said, there are lots of open 3s, but that's the Knicks game plan. We don't have the alternative game plan once KP is limited.

I'm glad my sister and I saw them win it all live last year in Game 5 of the Finals. Once in a lifetime thing. It's evidently not that easy to get back and sometimes it takes a very long time.

The dominant sweep of the Knicks regular season made the Cs discount the Knicks. I am convinced about that.

This Knicks team would lose to the Pacers and would get swept by OKC. Boston allowed themselves to be dragged into this series and now are in trouble. This Knicks team just isn't that good.

I'd like to see us play a little bit faster in game 3.

Just need more playoff intensity on the offensive end. Our defense is still very good.

Both games were epic choke job losses by the Celtics?they should literally easily be up 2-0 right now

I think we all felt like this was going to be an issue this season when we saw how bad this team played at home.

That has continued. Championship teams win games at home. They don't blow 20 point leads in consecutive second halves of playoff games.

It is really disappointing. They are better than this. Just looks like they are cool with winning one title.

1987 team had injuries
2009 had injuries

This team really has no excuse other than they just play pretty lazy ball.

Glad we don't see this team until Saturday. Need a break from them

Can't argue with this. Just handed 2 games to the knicks that was so unneeded.

This is my feeling. At this point if they lose they lose. I'm exhausted. Wins are more of a relief and then more dread for the next game.

Want them to win but if they don't it will give me a much needed break.

I am on a trip for work and I missed the game.  omg I am so glad I didn?t watch that game.  so what is the consensus, are the C?s done?  i read we had a 20 point lead again and blew it.   what the heck happened this time?

Exact same thing that happened in Game 1. Literally the same thing. Carbon copy.

Are they done? They look like it but we will see if they have any fight in them Saturday.

The OKC  Denver game looks like a regular season game.

Totally devoid of defense. Everyone hitting everything.

They just don?t look like they have that hunger in them. There is no fight. Not saying they aren?t treating this like a playoff series but they definitely don?t seem to have their foot on the gas at all times.

And for the first time in years they are scared to shoot. All of them. A few days off is good for the team because they need to reboot. Obviously Saturday is must-win and if they collectively get their heads right, should happen.

Think they need an outside voice (like a Pierce or KG) to get in their ears. This is an opportunity that may never present itself again. The team can easily (or even expectedly) be broken up this offseason because of salaries. Letting an inferior team punk them is not what champions do.

Irony that the New York Knicks in 2013 ended our Paul Pierce and KG era.

And that this New York Knicks team in 2025 is very likely going to end our current roster as players need to be moved and team needs to be gutted for salary purposes.

It was bad when I started counting seconds with 8 minutes to go.  Tatum missing the breakaway pass to Brown and  Horford turned the ball over after stealing the inbounds play.  They had a big lead at that point but started giving away possessions.  All the while bricking 3?s.
