What's even more frustrating is that I still don't think New York really did anything to us defensively to make our offense that bad. We were literally just not hitting wide open shots and had nothing else to turn to.

Hey Tatum, I think Kerr made the right choice to bench you back in the summer.

Jeez.

Considering they won gold it certainly wasn?t the wrong decision.
They got lucky with that easy path last year and that they were able to get 1 title out of this core because I feel Tatum has been a mental midget on most big games ever since the finals choke against the warriors.

Stop discounting last season's title. It makes you look like you aren't even a Cs fan

You want to tee off on this year's team go for it. They deserve it. But they were the best team last year and would have beaten anyone.

This year they don't have it.

15-60 in game one from 3
10-40 in game 2

Most of these misses in crunch time in the 4th where you need every point you can get.

This team doesn't look interested in winning games anymore. Mid December effort
They got outworked. Also outcoached but they lost mainly because the got outworked. On the other hand the degree of choke involved that enabled them to blow this one over the last 6 minutes of the game was pretty impressive.

Knicks are mid. Boston is shooting themselves out of the series with no self awareness when the 3s aren't dropping.

The Cs look like an entitled team that expects teams to roll over. The bad habits we saw in Jan. are still there. They have been terrible at home.

Joe obviously has been a bum but anyone blaming him is dead wrong?once again the Celtics had a massive lead and the Celtics players literally choked like dogs, got tight and couldn?t hit the broad side of a barn or defend anything.
Players fault.

Who.ledt that lineup out there and who decided to put NY in the bonus with 2 to go?
Who coaches them to chuck 3 after 3?

It's 100% on him

TP. There's a reason they look confused and unsure what to do when the threes don't go in, and that's because that's the only thing that Joe is pushing on them with his extreme philosophy.

Ime really, really screwed us. This guy is a joke and the exact opposite kind of leader that this team needs.

Eh, Ime made a mistake, but it's management that really screwed us. Whatever he did, he was still highly coveted by other teams. We fired him and his replacement was Joe. HOU was more than happy to hire Ime.

I really like Brad, but he is too much of a people pleaser. He didn't need to retain Joe after 2023. He perplexingly signed him before the year was up, but he was just an interim option at that point. We could have had a long offseason search for a coach.

Eh, it's so hard to judge this scenario because we don't have all the facts.

But it sounded like we had  no choice given the people who were involved, especially in the environment and culture at the time. It's one thing for another team to overlook this issue, but it's another for us to overlook and prioritize a male coach over the wife of a team executive who I believe also was an employee or involved in some fashion.

Feels like it wouldn't have worked out just given everything that happened.

They waste all that time suspending Udoka before letting him go like right when the season started and gave Mazz the thumbs up. They should have just let him go immediately and used that offseason to look for a new coach, or better yet, use the following year to look for a coach and NOT promote Mazz to HC during ASW. Or give Ime a chance by having him go through training courses. I thought the handling of the coaching transition was horrible by Brad and the F/O team.

I would disagree. They made it very difficult to attack the basket and contested everything. They also got up tight on Jaylen and exposed the weakness with his handle.
Their defense has been excellent to date - though the C's have cooperated by forgetting how to make shots.

Just a total failure 2 games in a row with no learning from game 1:

starters in 4Q, 2 for 18 FG for 8 points.

Sad part is, we ALL saw it coming. Even the fans in the building. It was 86-72. Then it became 87-86 NY. For a team with as much talent as ours, to not score for 6 minutes in a row is so bad

Knicks are giving them the open set shots and they are falling for it. Miami did the same stuff, no ball movement, or cuts to the basket. It's easy to defend, just a matter of the shot going in or not. They also are happy with just letting Tatum and Brown try to mismatch hunt.

We mocked them all season, but now the Mikal Bridges trade actually doesn't look so bad. He's actually made clutch plays on defense both games late, more than our team can say

Cs playing a brand of hero ball we saw back in 2023. I mean there is no ball movement. No multiple passes. Slow, plodding offense that ends up with one on one terrible shots.

They didn't take the Knicks seriously in game one. Game 2 they thought it was a fluke and now they are in the deep water about to drown.

I?m really happy they got the title last season and don?t discount it, just point out blatant facts of it being an easy path?sorry.
When they made the finals in 22 it was a much more impressive path, unfortunately couldn?t finish it off.

Yeah honestly how bad the Knicks were against us this season including bridges has really fueled them and this series going the way it is unfortunately. He absolutely stinks though, sure give him credit but this is on our players being awful

I mean that usually happens. Raptors beat GS who has several injuries in series. Denver beat a terrible Miami.
Some of those LeBron Cavs teams sucked and GS won.

Then you had the bubble BS for the Lakers.

It takes luck to win a title. Boston had it last season. Not so much this year.

I'm glad my sister and I saw them win it all live last year in Game 5 of the Finals. Once in a lifetime thing. It's evidently not that easy to get back and sometimes it takes a very long time.
