So the Wizards are now:

G: M Brogdon, Bud Carrington
G: J Poole, M Smart, Kispert
F: B Coulibaly, AJ Johnson
F: K Middleton, Kyshawn George
C: A Sarr, R Holmes

Light on big men. No real PF. 4 SFs. Some decent players in the backcourt.

That is a weird looking roster.  Malcom and Marcus reunited!

I believe that is a pu pu platter of mediocrity.

Tanker?s Delight on the menu

Ya its not supposed to be actually be good. If they finish with the worst record they are guaranteed a top 5 pick in a draft with 5 potential future all stars. Meanwhile they picked up a few draft picks and have a few guys in Smart/Middleton who might rebuild some value for them and be flippable this summer.

I really hope Flagg doesn't end up in Washington.  Crap organization for him to go to.

I hope he does go to Washington. We?ll get so see him play more if he?s on the east coast and Cooper will almost certainly want out of there by the time his rookie deal is up.

I've always pictured him in Charlotte, but now I'm rooting hard for Utah.

Utah has some nice pieces with Markkanen, Collins, George and Kessler. Add Flagg to that group and they could be a playoff team in a year or two.

Yeah I'd love to see him with either Charlotte or Utah.

Charlotte adding Flagg after trading away Mark Williams to go along with Lamelo, Bridges and Miller could be something to build on. Maybe they package some pieces and try to acquire a 3rd star to add and form a big 3 with Flagg + Lamelo?

Brandon Miller is in his second year and he was averaging 21pts, 5rebs, 4ast. Could very well be that 3rd star.  He was the #2 overall pick in last years draft.

It all depends on how the coach plays them.  When healthy (and the top three rarely are) these guys could win some games:

PG: Brogdon
SG: Smart
SF: Middleton
PF: Saddiq Bey
C: Alex Sarr

But that's if Smart doesn't play hero ball.  If Sarr is the fifth option on offense he could just focus on rim-running and offensive boards.

I'm not saying they'd be playoff calibre.  But if those three were featured prominently in their last 30 games they could go 13-17.

I'd like to see Charlotte go big with LaMelo and Brandon Miller in the backcourt together.

G: LaMelo Ball
G: Brandon Miller
F: Dalton Knecht
F: Miles Bridges
C: Josuf Nurkic

That would be a fun starting 5 to watch. Certainly compared to how bad they have been this season. That team should be pushing .400 to .500 basketball.

Actually, the probably don't have the bench to do that. Maybe .350 to .425 basketball. But the starting 5 will be more competitive. Okogie is the only bench player I like the look of. The rest of them look like 3rd stringers. Oh and Josh Green. Two good bench players. A 7 man rotation plus 3rd stringers.

Decent team for sure. I'm a bit surprised they gave up both Williams and Richards before the deadline. They were one of the teams that it felt like had a glut of young talent at the big man position. Maybe they saw enough to think those young guys couldn't anchor a team as part of their core moving forward?

Maybe they really liked Knecht? I know I like him next to Ball and Miller. Maybe they have other plans for their big man position eventually. But Nurkic is not a the guy you want if you are trying to win in the playoffs.

It was clear being around #Cavs Friday that there were still raw ? and mixed ? emotions following Thursday?s trade for De?Andre Hunter. It wasn?t about him. It was about what the team lost in the deal. ?We?re humans. It?s not just a plug-n-play thing

This is worth pointing out every year.  It's why I still hate the Perk trade with a passion.

Mid-season trades are rough, on players and teams.

Looking back, I'm not sure if keeping Perk would've elevated us to a championship that season coming off an ACL injury. We'd have no backup for Pierce and the O'Neals were constantly injured. At least we got Nenad Krstic and Jeff Green in return

One thing we can say is...that starting five have never lost a playoff series together on the floor

Meanwhile Jaxson Hayes is now the starting center for them lol. Jokic will eat him alive

The buyout market is thin. Who tehy gonna sign...Daniel Theis?? PJ Tucker? They're worse or as worse as Jaxson Hayes lolol. At least Luka can now enjoy lobbing to Hayes  ;D

They can always look and see if Jared Sullinger is still up to play basketball in the NBA and give him a call lol!
