Good quarter, bad half.  We're playing so far below our capabilities on both ends.

DW has been on a slump of late. We need the old Derrick White back.

JB looks so unfocused most games. He just is a dumb player for stretches.

Brown has been the best player on the floor for the Celtics today, bit of a strange time to make this comment.

JB was good for a stretch with the 2s and then when the starters came in he had 2 bad turnovers and then lost another one on the way to the hoop.

Please remind me why we were unable to keep Daniel Theis a few years back ?
Or, grabbed him up as a free agent this summer in place of maybe Luke and Springer.

We're 14 for 23 from 2 point range.  8 for 27 from 3.

On pace for 54 3 point attempts this game.  Too many, especially when they're not falling.

Meanwhile Cavs are up 13 on the Pacers. Them and OKC just feel like teams of destiny and neither is slowing down. Very locked in. Reminds me of the 2024 C's. We're not that right now  :(

White is now 2 for his last 21 on 3 point attempts. Oof

His shooting selection is the problem. He shot like he was Curry, with different result.

Cavs are the top seed in the east. That race is over. Boston at best will the 2 seed but most likely the 3 seed.

Yep. There's usually at least two to three White pull up threes a game that drive me nuts. Too many green lights on this team.

Yeah I know I'm not talking about that, just observing the mere fact that OKC and CLE aren't slowing down. Back to backs, quality opponents, injuries to their own guys. Doesn't matter, they give it 110% every game and every possession.

Same as the 2024 C's.

We've looked bad with KP on the floor, sadly.

Yeah, his on/off this year thus far is not great at -9.7.

Some of it is KP working his way back into things and us getting used to playing with him again. But I do think he's struggling with the new officiating standard that lets a lot more go since the ASB last season. He used to be money at those midrange post up opportunities that would often lead to fouls or good open looks for him due to a lack of contact that was able to be generated by the defense. Without those opportunities that are largely non-existent this year thus far, he's a lot less versatile to our offense this year.

Ya I think a lot of the KP on struggles are the Celtics go through these weird stretches where they try to force feed him post touches. KP is good in the post, but post touches in general are just aren't the most efficient offense. They also have a higher tendency of resulting in turnovers.

KP is most useful when his offense use if varied. Some post, so pop, so dive ect. Like tonight.

Lowered expectations not only for this game but the season as well. This team is not playing fast enough, hard enough. Any trade HAS to consider the future, not just this season.

Somehow, gotta get through this winter lull and win as many games as possible until we (hopefully) start playing better later in the season.
You do see this with teams all the time, though it remains to be seen what the real issue is with this slump.

Having said that, nothing but a significant change in philosophy is going to save us from stubborn Joe's offense.
