Let's hope we are seeing some cracks in the Cavs blistering start to the year.
It would help a lot if they would drop 3 of the next 5.

Would also help a lot if the Celtics win the next 5 but that's only a dream

They are also on pace to give up 125+ to Houston. Goes back to my point yesterday that CLE's defense does give up a ton of points.

Wow! I didn't realize but Detroit is now the 6 seed in the East. And currently up 5 on Orlando

And the Cavs? inevitable regression to the mean is happening.

Stinks that we?ve not been playing our best ball, too, because I think we?ll see the Cavs play at a much lower pace the rest of the way and be catchable.

The mighty Cavs lose again!  :laugh:

Also, how does Will Hardy still have a job?

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

They are a surprise team. The entire Central division might even make the playoffs. Bulls in the play-in seeds.

Seems like LeBron is playing his best balls against the Curry/Kerr Warriors late in his career. They crushed the Dubs in Chase Center

Nick Richard?s was a great pickup for the Suns. He had 20pts and 19rebs tonight.

Unhappy with his current status with the Phoenix Suns, center Jusuf Nurkic said he hasn't spoken with head coach Mike Budenholzer in two months, going so far as to say the two "don't have a relationship."

Nurkic, who started 23 games this season before being moved to the bench earlier this month, has not played since Jan. 7. He said Budenholzer didn't tell him he would sit out a Jan. 9 game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Nurkic is available to play after missing four games with the flu, but Saturday's 119-109 win over the Washington Wizards marked his ninth consecutive missed game.

"We don't have a relationship," Nurkic said of Budenholzer, according to the Arizona Republic. "So, it's fine. For me, just be a pro and do the best I can. Work and stay ready for whatever might be, but there is no chaos or bringing that to this team. They already have plenty of it. Trying to be as professional as I can and work my ass off for something else."

I expected the Pistons to be around .500 this year given the upgrades to their depth. Replacing a bunch of 3rd stringers and non-NBA guys with legit NBA starters & solid bench players.

I think people underestimated just how bad the rest of their team was last year. They had a thread on RealGM recently that said of the 30 teammates Cade Cunningham had last year, 14 of them are no longer in the NBA. They weren't NBA caliber players. Just replacing those guys with solid NBA talent was a huge improvement. That is the reason for the improvement more than growth of their young players (Cade, Duren, Ivey).

This is the first time in Cade's career that he has a balanced squad with NBA talent around him. His other teams tended to only have 4-5 legit rotation players and a bunch of 3rd stringers / non-NBA guys. It makes a big difference to fix that issue.

The Bulls, however, I did not see coming at all. They have shocked me. I had the Bulls and Raptors swapping places. Chicago down near the bottom of the East along with Charlotte and Washington. And Toronto competing for one of those final play-in spots. I was dead wrong on Chicago. Toronto has mostly been injured. I'd like to see them get healthy for a stretch and see if they can course-correct. I think they can. Too late for a run at a play-in spot but hopefully they can build some positive momentum heading into the summer.

Knicks had one of those nights where all their main guys played very well:

Towns = 18pts 15reb
Brunson = 25pts 11ast

M Bridges = 27pts 7ast 5reb 10-15 FGA
Anunoby = 33pts 12-18 FGA
Hart = 20pts 18reb 11ast

What a monster game from Josh Hart.

Knicks scored 143 points against Sacramento.

Amen Thompson has now started 14 games for the Rockets this season. He is averaging 17.3ppg, 11.0rpg, 3.7apg, 2.1spg, 1.8bpg in 37.6 minutes a night. He is also shooting 55% from the field but only 19% from 3.

Those are some huge numbers from Amen Thompson. Filling up the stat sheet. Almost 2 steals & 2 blocks per game. 3.7 assists per game is solid number for a guy who plays off the ball the lot. 11 rebounds is massive. 17 points with a lot of them hustle buckets is fantastic for a guy you don't run many plays for.

Going into the year, I thought Detroit and Charlotte would be the surprise teams and potentially make a play-in spot, or at least one of them for sure. Was dead wrong about Charlotte, although it's weird they definitely have some more talent and Charles Lee as HC, but injuries have also hurt them.

I sort of agree about the Raptors, I thought 2 of ATL/CHI/TOR would get the 9th and 10th seeds. Figured CHI would eek it out but barely. I didn't factor in that Philly would be bad this season too. I did feel confident that the 6-8 seeds would all end up being 3 of PHI/IND/MIA/MIL. Orlando has been ravaged with injuries but when healthy I do think they are a Top-4 team in the East, and Indiana right around there as well.

Ultimately I hope we play either DET/CHI in the 1st round but the way it's shaping up, there could be some very interesting 1st round series in the East actually. CLE/BOS/NY could all be playing some combination of ORL/IND/PHI potentially. Not that easy.
