Jimmy Butler diagnosed with deep glute muscle contusion and his game-time status is in jeopardy for Game 3.

Guess that's a wrap for GSW

They can lose Gm 3 and still win the series. They will only be down 2-1. They will need Jimmy back beyond that though.

The Nuggets 7-player bench scored a combined 6 points last night. Westbrook also missed like 4 wide open 3s, and LAC let him take them.

Yeah I can understand the frustrations from Jokic and some of the starters. It's also a bit odd DEN is relying so much on Westbrook, there's a reason most teams don't want him anymore and when he plays, the other team is begging him to shoot 3s lol. I think they kind of pulled the plug last night, only playing him 8 minutes. But no one else can really fill in.

There are reports that Westbrook left the game with an injury. I didn't notice it during the game. During the game, I also thought they just benched him due to bad play / searching their bench for anything else that might work.

ESPN is reporting

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44846771/russell-westbrook-early-exit-adds-nuggets-injury-woes

Quote
Westbrook turned his left foot while warming up before the game and attempted to play through the injury before being taken out midway through the second quarter.
Quote
Denver Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook left Thursday night's 117-83 loss to the LA Clippers in Game 3 of the Western Conference playoff series with left foot inflammation midway through the second quarter

They are also talking about MPJ. It sounds bad.

Quote
while forward Michael Porter Jr. played through a painful left shoulder injury and said he wasn't sure if he would be available for Saturday's Game 4.

Quote
Porter Jr. injured his left, non-shooting shoulder while diving for a ball near the end of Denver's Game 2 loss on Monday. A source told ESPN that Porter suffered a Grade 2 sprain of a joint in his shoulder. Porter said he was unable to lift his arm above his shoulder on the two off days and that it was incredibly painful but said that he wanted to try to play Thursday to give his team a lift.

"They say it's normally a four-, five-week injury," Porter Jr. said. "I mean, you use your shoulder for everything. It was tough to rebound. Tough to bring it up to shoot. It was probably like 20-30 percent. I couldn't really use it."

Quote
Asked if he'd be able to play Saturday in Game 4, with the Nuggets now trailing in the series 2-1, Porter said that he will try.

"If I can, I will," he said. "If it's still in the place like it is today and I don't feel like I can even bring any help to the team at all, then there's no point in trying to go out there."

Yeah, I don't think MPJ helped his team at all last night. His shoulder was too banged up. If he is gone for the series, that is a massive loss for Denver. Both because MPJ is a good player but also because the bench has no depth to cover up his absence.

LAC was a small favourite before the series. They would be a large favourite if Denver is without MPJ.

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant will miss Game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday due to a hip injury, sources tell ESPN. Morant played through a significant ankle sprain to clinch a playoff spot last week, then suffered a scary fall on his hip Thursday.

Memphis needs to make changes this offseason. Because even with Morant leaving the game, it's inexcusable to blow a 30-point lead at home while you supposedly have two max players in Bane and JJJ. That team is underachieving and the coach firing did nothing

I probably would still keep Morant despite the off-court antics because he can be that good, but Bane/JJJ and a few others I would dangle and see if you can make a nice complementary move or two.

Not sure if I am the only one who did not know this, but Mark Daigneault (OKC HC) is from Massachusetts. He was a student manager for UConn under Jim Calhoun & then an assistant coach for Holy Cross.

It is good to know if the Celtics ever lose Joe Mazzulla, we might have a readymade replacement in Daigneault. Heck, if Stevens decides to go back to Indiana, we might have his replacement too in fellow Mass native Sam Presti.

Oh, nice spin move Kuzma. Against the shot clock and the shot blocker Myles Turner. Covered a lot of ground on that drive to create some separation for the running layup.

Haliburton has 30 assists to only 4 turnovers in this series.

Indiana's offense is revvying up. 10-0 run to create some separation in a close game. Milwaukee are in trouble.

Lillard is 1-8. Has 2pts at halftime.  :-X

Gary Trent Jr is lighting it up. Bucks 15-3 run.

This game is a must win for them. Cannot go down 0-3. Series over. But down 1-2 and series on.

What is Lillard doing!? Shooting a 32 footer spot up 3 in transition? When you are having as bad of a night as he is. 1-10 FGA 0-6 3PTA now.

Make smart decisions.

Nesmith has been awesome. Timely bucket after timely bucket. He has 18pts 7reb 3ast 2stl 1blk. Filling up the stat sheet.

Siakam has 16pts. Together they have 34 of Indy's 69pts. Half of Indy's scoring has come from these 2.

They are going to need some help to finish this game off. M Turner has been quiet. Hali has been great passing wise but quiet scoring wise. Mathurin provided good scoring off the bench but he has been on the bench a long time now. Toppin quiet. McConnell quiet. A couple of these guys need to step up.

Is Mathurin just milking that collision to buy his team more time to decide whether they will challenge the foul call or not?

Feels like it.
