LeBron 4 Straight Triple Doubles

LeBron just had his 4th straight triple double. He turns 40 next month. Incredible.

#1 vs 76ers = 21pts 13ast 12reb
#2 vs Raptors = 19pts 16ast 10reb
#3 vs Grizzlies = 35pts 14ast 12reb
#4 vs Spurs = 16pts 12ast 16reb

AD vs Wemby

AD had a huge game against Wemby. 40pts on 16-26 FGA & 10-12 FTA. He added 12reb 2blk 1stl 2ast.

Wemby had 28pts 14reb 5ast 2blk 1stl. He was 12-25 FGA but 0-0 FTA. No free throw attempts. He took 13 three pointers. Half of his shot attempts from 3. Not going to get many FTs shooting that many 3s.

Wemby's Low FTAs

On the season, Wemby is taking 17.0 FGAs per game with 8.3 of them from three point range. Almost half. He only takes 3.9 FTAs. A very low number for a center. A very low number for any position. Only 22.3% FT rate. Wemby is down from 5.2 FTAs last season. He took only a third of his shot attempts last season from 3.

This team just has no limits...14-0 Cavaliers?

Are they on pace to surpass the 73-9 Warriors?

Unlikely but perhaps!

2015-16 Golden State Warriors (lost NBA Finals): 24-0
1993-94 Houston Rockets (won NBA Finals): 15-0
1948-49 Washington Capitols (lost NBA Finals): 15-0
2002-03 Dallas Mavericks (lost Western Conference Finals): 14-0
1957-58 Boston Celtics (lost NBA Finals): 14-0
    2024-25 Cleveland Cavaliers: 14-0

Highly doubt it. Only 2 of the Cav?s wins were against teams with with an over .500 record.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Grant Williams playing some good D on Giannis in the 4th quarter here. Playing way off of Giannis. Blocking his drives with his strength & lateral quickness. Forcing him to stay in that 15-20 feet range and take a few pull up jump shots Giannis did not want to take.

Milwaukee got jobbed there at the end. LaMelo drove the ball, tripped over his own feet and the refs called a foul on Milwaukee. LaMelo hits 2 FTs and they win by 1. It never even looked like a Milwaukee player touched LaMelo. I don't know how the refs called that. It wasn't that congested. It was clear eye lines to see what happened. Terrible call.

Only 7 secs left after that. Clear out for Giannis top of the key. Grant kept him outside the paint once again. Giannis got an 18 footer off the dribble. Miss. Good D Grant.

Terrible decision by Giannis there. Why would you take a long two point jump shot for the win there? Complete settle.

For all Giannis great stats, it doesn't translate well to wins. I don't mean to go as far as empty stats. Not by any means. But more like they are 70-80% of what you would expect rather than 100%.

I have always thought Giannis is a difficult player to play with because of how much he likes to handle the ball and attack by drives from the perimeter (so on-ball threat) and also how badly he plays off-ball away from the basket with his inability to make jump-shots.

Budenholzer was the best thing to ever happen to Giannis. He built the entire offense around both his strengths and to limit his weaknesses. It has not worked as well since Budenholzer left / Lillard joined. It also was hard to make work prior to Budenholzer with Giannis' earlier teams which all underachieved. As are his teams post-Budenholzer.

I mean, look at his stats. He is putting up a league leading 33ppg on 61% FG%. He is getting to the foul line 10 times a game on 21 shot attempts. He has a TS% of 63%. He is 5th in the league at rebounding with 12.1rpg. He averages 5.5apg which must be among the league leaders at his position at PF. He is a strong defensive player. These are prime-Shaq type numbers but no prime-Shaq level impact.

It just feels less impactful than a guy should be who is putting up numbers like this.

Wonder why NIKE didn't tweet about Giannis this time?  ::)

Filipowski is a player. Impressive how comfortable he is putting the ball on the floor and driving. Able to make decisions and pass out off the bounce. He has enough size for center.

He is going to be a good player.

D Fox has 26pts at halftime against Utah after droppin 60pts the night before.

No D Sabonis. No DeRozan. No M Monk.

Update: Fox is up to 44pts in the closing minutes. 104 points in two games.

Update: Now 107pts in two games. Kobe Bryant apparently holds the record at 110pts according to the commentators. How doesn't Wilt have this record with his 100pt game? That doesn't make sense to me.

The 107pts in two games is a Kings franchise record. More than Oscar Robertson or Tiny Archibald.

Make that 48pts for 108pts in two games for D Fox. Game over.
