The TV commentators the past two weeks have done an excellent job of highlighting some of the Patriots problems. Last week were the issues with Elliot Wolf and especially his draft. Today, the guys talked about how Mayo only knows the NFL under Bill Belichick.

I'll admit, I wanted that first pick. Obviously there are benefits to having the top pick in each round. However, I also wanted Robert Kraft to know the embarrassment of having the worst team in the league. This team needs to clean house and hire coaches and front office personnel with non-Belichickian ideas/ties.

I brought up the scouting department before. I would love to see one of the Patriots beat writers to do an in-depth piece on the Patriots scouting and become a talking point this off-season. Attention needs to be brought up in this area to force Kraft to make corrections.

I don't watch the Pats closely, but it seemed like they had a talent issue more than a coaching issue.

Mike Vrabel be your next coach..wasn?t really fair to Mayo with the talent he had to work with
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Wow. He won that game and got fired. Sickening.

Surprising that Kraft fired him after one season. Better bring in the stud Mike Vrabel

The thing is yes we have a clear and obvious talent issue in some areas, but to me it wasnt necessarily the result more so the strategy and decision making that got Mayo fired.

None of us expected to be a playoff team this year but I expected a competent team at least. Head scratching play calls in crucial situations all year and absolutely no discipline. And tbh the defense besides Judon is basically the same as the past 2 seasons with the former DC now being the HC, there was no excuse to drop off like they did. Thats supposed to be Mayo's specialty.

And then you add onto that this cluster of a week 18 game where they played as hard as they should have all season when we wanted a loss. Bye bye

Good. He was a terrible hire anyway who people only wanted because he played for the Pats. And he did absolutely nothing worthwhile for this team.

And I know he probably wasn?t fired because he won today, but I hope he was. Going all in on a game that the organization and fans desperately want you to lose is a pansy move. He probably knew he was getting fired and was giving a big middle finger on his way out.

Did the fans honestly think there wouldn't be a drop off in the defense? How does a team fire the greatest defensive coach in the history of the sport, and not expect a drop off?

Don't get me wrong, Mayo should have never been the head coach in the first place. If Wolfe isn't also fired by tomorrow then Kraft should just sell the team. I would have fired Wolfe on the Sunday during the last draft.

100%. Bill Belichick, who many consider the greatest coach of all time, won 4 games last year. This team has very little talent. Unless the Pats bring in a bunch of talent in the offseason the next coach will likely have similar results.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Kudos to Kraft for firing Mayo.  Hopefully he cleans house.

I am still stunned and pretty angry that they couldn?t find a way to lose the game today. The only positive would be if they trade Milton for a good pick. But that won?t happen.  Good backup and now there?ll be a QB battle (real or not) in camp.   Obviously it?s good that Milton looked good. But couldn?t he have just made a couple of rookie mistakes?  Not sure whose fault the fumbled handoff was.  But all he had to do was not handle the ball when it popped up on that unlikely first down run. Or maybe he could have thrown a bad pass which I don?t think he did all day.  I guess there was the intentional grounding - but that was not enough.  Dang I wanted the pick.

Robert Kraft must be determined to get next year's number 1 pick.
