So here is my bold prediction. Pats win vs. BUF but TEN wins vs HOU so Pats end up with the 3rd pick and take Travis Hunter after CLE and NYG take QBs.
I hope I am wrong, would rather have the first pick to trade, but would this outcome be all that bad? My prediction is more of a wild guess but TEN is actually favored by 2 at home so this is at least realistic. 3rd pick feels way better than 4th pick.
Hunter may well end up being the best player in the draft and a top player for years. It feels a little greedy to hope for Hunter and a trade for more picks.
I guess the best best outcome would be Pats win, and all the other 3 win teams also win but NYG beating PHI, even with them resting everyone and CLE beating BAL (who I think needs to win for the Division) are both really unlikely.
I think the best outcome would be for the Pats to lose, have the 1st pick, and keep everything simple.
Bingo. It's pretty simple.
For me, best case scenario is:
-Patriots have #1 pick
-Patriots trade #1 to whoever is #3 and acquire back their #3, 2025 2nd, 2026 2nd, and a player of some sort (could be a young WR, pass rusher or offensive lineman)
-With #3, take Travis Hunter
-Using 2025 2nd and maybe your own, trade up for an OT in the 1st round OR just use both selections on O-Lineman and another player
This way, you also have a nice 2nd rounder for 2026, you can add a player (ex. if you trade with the Browns maybe you can get WR Jeudy or OT Dawand Jones, or someone like that), and still get potentially the BPA and additional picks/assets. It's like how in the Panthers-Bears #1 pick Bryce Young trade, the Bears also got back DJ Moore in addition to all the picks
In this scenario too you still have 100M+ in cap space to splurge on a few FAs like Higgins, etc.
