That original Dream Team would destroy any of these USA Olympic teams since then and it wouldn't be close.
Without a doubt,, win by 20 or more

Bad spacing and terrible passing.

  • Larry Bird for President
Starting line up:

Jrue
Curry
Durant
James
AD

I am not a fan of the hockey line substitutions. Seems lazy by Kerr.
I would play Booker very little. Same with Haliburton.

I don?t think Kerr is necessarily trying to win these preseason game, or at least he doesn?t care if they lose. Team USA has lost enough times in the last number of years that it?s no longer a shock to anyone when it happens. I think he?s frantically trying to get as many players playing time so he can figure out who to play, what combos work, and how to win the games when they do matter - during the Olympics.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I don't enjoy watching Steph on these teams. Too selfish. Too much of a gunner. I'd rather see Haliburton play. Someone who will get others involved.

I'm fully aware it's warm up games, but it's a bit telling that USA seems to be in very close games against these countries. They're 5-0 but they could absolutely drop a game or two.

I don?t watch the games, not super interested compared to NBA games. His numbers look great but why is he getting so much run and getting so many shot attempts? I have to assume the team is deferring to him and Curry out of respect, no? I mean couldn?t many of the players be doing just as well with equal opportunities? Or is LeBron truly that much better than the rest?

I think LeBron ball-handling & passing separates him from the other wings. He also does the best job at getting to the basket for easy scores.

Tatum hasn't been as involved as a facilitator. D Booker is mostly off ball and stationary. Letting the guards handle it. Ant has been dynamic but pulls up for jumpers more often than LeBron and doesn't get to the rim as much.

LeBron has been comfortably the best wing / forward on the team. Generating the most high value shot attempts of any of them & creating shots for other players better than any of them.

Embiid looks like an old Patrick Ewing out there. 1999-2000 vintage.

His defense frustrates me. He is just coasting along. Not in proper defensive position. Not paying close enough attention to things around him. Often has his feet badly set to make a timely defensive rotation. Pure laziness.

Thought he looked better yesterday but still think AD/Bam are the better fits out there.

The US v. Serbia game in the Olympics will have more MVP awards than any official game in history, even more than the Dream Team because at the time of the Dream Team they had won just 9 MVP (Bird, Magic, and MJ all had 3 each).  The US/Serbia game on Sunday will have 11 (Lebron 4, Jokic 3, Curry 2, Embiid and Durant). I say official because there have been all star games with more.

The Dream Team ended up with Jordan winning 2 more, Malone winning 2, Robinson and Barkley 1 each, but at the time of the team just the 9.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Interesting tidbit.  I guess if Greece miraculously makes it out of their group (Canada, Australia, Spain, and Greece must be this year?s group of death if I am reading the schedule correctly), then a USA-Greece match would tie the MVP total, as Giannis also has two.
