Luke Kennard back to Memphis for 1 year, $11 million.

Grizzlies team taking shape

Starters

G: Morant
G: Bane
F: GG Jackson
F: J Jackson Jr
C: Z Edey

Bench

G: S Pippen Jr
G: Smart
F: Kennard
F: Aldama
C: B Clarke

Starting to look like one of the more dependable top 8 seeds in the West next year.

I expect that Smart is a starter with Bane at SF or third guard, whatever you want to call it.  Or maybe Edey doesn't start, JJackson is one big and GJackson is the other.

Yeah, I could see that. Smart is clearly their 3rd best perimeter player after Bane & Morant. It maximizes the minutes they can have their best players on the floor. Scottie Pippen Jr may be their next most dependable perimeter player ahead of Kennard (great shooter, no D) & GG Jackson (erratic). Starting Smart would also maximize Pippen Jr's minutes as a 6th man.

I also wondered about Brandon Clarke starting at C and bringing Z Edey off the bench. Edey looked so good in summer league that I now believe he is likely to start.

I would start GG Jackson and play him 20-25min and then go with that smaller three guard lineup later in games. I like Smart as a leader off that bench. I am not sure how much I would play Kennard. I view him more as a situational sub for when they need more shooting (or when GG Jackson is stinking up the joint).

The Suns picking up Tyus Jones for nothing is amazing. That's just what they needed. Now if they could find a defensive big man maybe Azubuike can give them something...

Can Edey get up and down the court? I think they have to go with Clarke if Edey has cement shoes. If Edey is more nimble, he?s an all star.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Spurs sign Malachi Flynn to training camp contract.

They already have CP3 and Tre Jones as their main PGs. They also have Stephon Castle who may play some PG. And their 2nd round pick Juan Nunez. I imagine M Flynn will have to outplay Nunez to stick around as 3rd string PG with Nunez spending time in the G-League.

Juan Nunez is a big 6-4 guard. Not bulky but tall. CPs, Tre and Malachi are all small guards. You would think that would give Nunez an advantage as adding something different. He has good ACB league experience in Spain (short small ACB experience, then 2yrs in Germany). He should be ready enough to be a 3rd string PG with no need for Malachi Flynn.

Edit: Hmm ... Nunez doesn't look like an NBA athlete. He has going to have to be highly skilled to overcome his lack of speed.

Svi got paid!

Danny throws 15m (4 years) at him. Solid.

Right now Oshae is like W. T. F..  I can't believe Svi got a 4 year deal like this.  Good for him.  Maybe he will thrive like Banton did when he got some consistent PT.

I feel really bad for Oshae right now. If doesn?t hook up with a team he really has nobody to blame but himself. I hope he gets picked up. He was a class act while being in Boston.

Isn't he that big fat dude that looks like he shouldn't be able to run up and down the court but does?

What a luxury he was for the Celts.  The guy could go weeks without playing then come in and start draining buckets and generally doing the right thing.  Hauser?s progress made him mostly unnecessary, but he nice to have around.  And he got himself a ring for his effort.
Yup

Yep, that's the guy.

I don't think he is an NBA player. He has some talent though. Should be able to make a good career for himself abroad.

Just In: France?s Guerschon Yabusele is in serious talks on a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Yabusele is resolving his $2.5 million contract buyout with Real Madrid as he nears NBA return.

Glad he?s getting another shot. Surprised Danny didn?t offer him a deal.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Free agent F Guerschon Yabusele has agreed on a one-year, $2.1 million minimum deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN.
