Can't wait to see what BS backstory Nike comes up with for the "inspiration" for this season's city jersey.

Looks like part of the Jacques Cousteau Swim wear Collection

reminds me of a unauthorized knockoff you might see in the 90s at a discount store.

The inspiration is the Seattle Storm rebel jersey. Nike's just being lazy and recycling ideas.

The alternative jerseys are dreadful, but the warmup jackets for the ring ceremony are tight:

One thing I do find funny is everyone is saying the "C's had a mickey mouse run because their competition was weak and injured"

Are they forgetting that we were legit without PORZINGIS for like 80% of the run???

And also, the part about weak competition. I'm pretty sure I saw a lot of people in the national media actually picking Dallas in the Finals and saying Kyrie + Luka > Jaylen + Tatum.

I'm not denying our run was probably a little easy but again, you can't control what the opponents do or how that shakes up. Not Boston's fault that MIL/PHI choked early. And even on the final few days of the regular season BOS had the #1 seed locked up a while ago but seeds 2-7 were still up in the air and you could argue some teams "tanked" for certain matchups. Again, not anything the C's could control.

?I?ll play Sam Hauser,? Reaves said on a YouTube vlog. ?NBA champion by the way ? congrats. He can shoot it.?

My money is on Sam.

Shaq said the Celtics 2023-2024 run was illegitimate, claiming we didn't beat anyone/everyone all banged up on our way to win NBA Finals

Stated their test will begin in 2024-2025 to see if they're legit when everyone is competitive and fully healthy, or just one-hit wonders/frauds

Someone should ask him who was injured for Dallas. Weren?t most of the ?experts? picking the Mavs to win that series? Sure seemed that way.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

that is just absolute bs Shaq.   He picked the mavs to win the finals before it started!
what a clown.  Losing respect for that dude.  I think Haslem is a bozo.  They both just hate the Celtics and they were hoping the C's would lose to a much lesser Dallas team.  Now after both of them look like bozos all they have left is they had an easy road.

Man with the olympics snub for JB, and JT not getting much PT at Paris, guys like Reaves who haven't done much in the NBA getting all cocky, and Shaq and Haslem being idiots, the NBA sure wants to make us PO'd to start the season.   JT / JB / Jru / DW/ Al you know what to do.

I am not sure when the 2024-25 season thread should start and the off-season thread should end, but with the Sox pretty much out of it and the Patriots not inspiring much excitement, it is hard not to be thinking about the Celtics.  What I have been thinking, is that with Porzingis out and with Horford a year older, Kornet and Tillman are going to have pretty important roles.

Last season, between Porzingis, Horford, Kornet, Tillman, Queta, and Brissett (basically our bigs, not including Tatum), they played 5,690 total minutes or about 70 minutes per game.  Porzingis is likely to miss at least 25 games to start the season and maybe more as the season goes on so I am going to pencil him in for 50 games and 1,500 minutes.  Horford played about 1,700 min last season so that will probably be less, say 1,500 minutes.  That leaves 2,700 minutes or so for other bigs if they match last season (with the amount they play small vs big).

That is a lot of minutes for Kornet, Tillman, and Queta.  It is 33 minutes per game on average of some combination of these bench players.  How well these guys play in these minutes could decide some games.  They could also play more small but I am not sure where those minutes would come from, Lonnie Walker?  I don't think they will be able to play small any more than they did last season.  I think we are going to see a lot of Kornet, Tillman, and to a lesser degree Queta.

Newsflash...none of those teams would have beaten Boston.

Not Miami with Butler
Not Cleveland with Mitchell
Not the Pacers with Haliburton

Shaq is so pointless now. He's a salty old boomer. And Haslem is just an idiot.

Who cares what Shaq or UD says? I wish folks would stop putting so much stock into what talking heads say. This is their job and nothing drives engagement like a controversial hot take that gets a fanbase riled up. If you scroll past them and don't give them a viral moment, their opinion would flip flop overnight because their analysis isn't based on the game.
