The Bears are hiring Ben Johnson.  That seems like the right choice.
It is a good hire. He and Vrabel were the top choices for this cycle. Frankly, they were the top choices LAST cycle, but neither took a job. I think Johnson is one of the NFL's best young talents, so congrats on that hire. He should be able to cook up some wild plays for Caleb

Same. I just think Philly has the better defense and they are home. Plus Barkley looks like a guy on a mission. The thing is Washington could not stop Gibbs but Detroit went away from him after a bit and their defense is 10x worse than Philadelphia so Washington had no issues scoring. If it is close Barkley could ice the game for Philly late just like against the Rams. He owned Washington this year too

Championship Games:

Commanders @ Eagles; 23-20 Commanders
Bills @ Chiefs; 27-20 Bills

Sorry...just can't fathom another week of the "Fly Eagles Fly" crowd, nor the Swifties army, smug-face Kelce and the cheating Mahomes.

Nice gesture by Bills fans.

Pete Carroll to the Raiders.

Liam Coen to the Jags.

If Pete Carroll can still get a job, I don't see why Belichick can't after 2025

All of that pickup basketball has kept him fit. I think Pete Carroll is a very nice guy. I think he was very effective and is a Hall of Famer.

I don't think this will work out in Vegas for Pete. Brady has a golden touch, but the Raiders job is a big challenge to take on.

Coen is a good hire. He's smart and can develop an offense with a talented QB. I'd get Lawrence a sports psychologist (or a lobotomy) to forget about the last four years.

Stephen A. Smith said if the Chiefs 3peat, Patrick Mahomes will be cemented as the greatest QB in NFL history.

That's enough First Take for today

It?s a purposely provocative statement but also a reminder that there is no such thing as a definitive GOAT.  There was a moment in time that almost everyone would have said Brady (Jordan), and then the inevitable happens and someone can make a case for someone else (Mahomes, Lebron).  If PM wins third straight he?ll have done something Brady didn?t do AND will be on pace to break Brady?s SB appearance and wins records. Saying he?s cemented as the greatest is just said to get under peoples skin. But putting PM in the conversation is totally legitimate.  There are a handful of QBs who demonstrated equal or even better skills than Brady for a period of time and Mahomes is one of them (obviously a very different type of QB).  No one has done as well for as long as Brady.  That?s why he?s been the consensus GOAT. BUT Mahomes (imo) is a more skilled player in general who is now showing that he is sustaining it and winning titles at a high rate.  He?s on pace with another win but has a while to go to have the longevity to take the consensus mantle from Brady.  Andy Reid otoh should be legit challenging BB as GOAT HC in every hate-Bill mind in the country.
