2 games in, who's your Finals MVP? It will continue to shift as the series moves on but who do you have now?

For me:

1. Jrue (19/9.5/4, great defense on everyone, clutch plays, 74% eFG)
2. Jaylen (21.5/5/4.5, great defense on everyone, bringing the intensity the team needs)
3. Tatum (17/10/8.5, leading the team in rebounds, assists, and really the entire offense revolves around him)
1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986, 2008, 2024

Through Game 2 my MVP is Jrue.

Given it?s a mix of worthy candidates I default to Tatum.  Tatum wins because he?s the most valuable - the person without whom the Celtics would be most impacted.

I have it similarly - Jrue, JB, JT - though it?s a virtual tie among those three given their differing impacts.

Though honestly I?m really hoping JT has a few big games remaining and takes it for us. Given all of the crap he?s got this year from the media and some fans, a ring and a Finals MVP - let alone a gold medal and $300M contract - would really tell the haters to shove it.

Same for me.  And White gets an honorable mention too.

I have a dollar bet on Jrue for series MVP that would pay $55!  That would be awesome.  Plus I?d just love to see Jrue get his due in an official capacity.

Always loved Jrue and love him all the more as a Celt.
Yup

Jrue
Jaylen

Tatum.
Because of tatums status if he has a signature game or 2 he could easily end up taking it. If he continues to play the way he has and white has a signature game he could fall into 4th maybe even 5th behind white and KP

Mine too but we still have a way to go. I care way more about getting this tittle than who the MVP is. I think this Celtics team feels the same!

Not the end all or anything, but just something to give more consideration to what Tatum is doing on the floor despite not shooting well and some questionable drives here and there.

I feel he?ll need to score more efficiently in the next games in order to really claim the MVP. If not, this may be a very unpopular outcome. I have no problem with it though if ever.

I will admit that I am defending Tatum.  He is my boy and I feel that he is getting a raw deal.  So because of that, I may be being over protective of him.  But the graph above is perfect.  That singular combined stat seems to order all 20 players pretty much where I feel they should be based on just watching the games.  Porzingis may be a bit low but that is because he is not playing full minutes (I would draft Porzingis over Washington).  But I think everyone else is listed pretty much how they would be drafted if you were picking teams to play a game tomorrow.

And this doesn't even account for rebounds.  Doncic and Tatum both lead their teams in rebounds so if you accounted for this, it would separate the top 2 even more.  It is interesting that Doncic has exactly 0 ORebs.  Not all rebounds are created equal.  But Doncic gets his share.  It is easier to rack up rebounds if you aren't playing defense though.

4 of the top 5 and 6 of the top 9 explains about all you need to know about this series so far.  Celts have so much more talent.

Luka, JT and JB being at the top is to a large degree because they have the ball the most.  Their usage% are 31.8, 27.6 and 27.9 respectively.  Jrue on the other hand is putting up his numbers with only 14.2 usage%.

Of course the graph is just offensive focused.  If you offset it with a graph representing point given up defensively, Luka's standing would plummet.

For me, I'd like to see JB win this year. JT next year.

Jrue winning is the ultimate gut punch to the Bucks though. Not that I have anything against the Bucks. Just funny. They needed to trade away Middleton, not Jrue

I have top five rankings as
1. Brown,
2. Tatum,
3. Jrue,
4. Luka,
5. KP.

Just feel Brown has been the best overall player. Tatum is seeing the most coverage other than Luka. Jrue is still a big factor in his opportunities. Luka's offense is only thing stopping total blowouts. KP with his efficiency  rounds out the top 5.
