Good writeup by a Mavs fan about the problems our team presents defensively.

https://www.mavsmoneyball.com/2024/6/10/24175106/the-celtics-have-neutralized-the-mavericks-defenses-biggest-strength-in-the-nba-finals

The C's should win this series.  The biggest issue for Dallas is they cannot consistently limit dribble penetration.  They don't have the personnel to do it.  Luka was exhausted by the end of the 3rd quarter.  Even after some rest he got routinely blown by.

As long the C's attack, play smart, and limit turnovers, they will win in 5.  Maybe 6.
5 or 6?  Mavs will be lucky to win one game.  How are they going to win two?

People do realize the team that wins the first 2 games have lost the finals plenty of times right?
I like where the Celtics are at but all of a sudden the narrative changing that the mavs are overrated and don?t stand a chance to even win a game are starting to irritate me.
Dance in their grave when the series is actually over.

Oh, you are starting to get irritated by posters on CS? I guess welcome to the club.

The fans have no impact on the games. There?s no way that this team, hungry to cross the finish line for the first time, quits over the next 5 games because of bloggers.

Where have I said the Celtics are going to quit because of bloggers?
If there?s a team that could pull off this choke, hate to tell you it?s these Celtics.
I?m sure phoenix suns fans were calling the bucks overrated after 2 games of the finals literally 3 years ago.

Completely disagree. This team has a lot of fight. Game 2 was a great example. They were locked in defensively, even when the shots weren?t going. Even when Dallas made their push with less than 3 minutes, DWhite makes an all world block. I don?t remember a more clutch block since Lebron vs the Warriors. It irritates me when bloggers insinuate that this isn?t a mentally strong team. They?ve proved it all year long.

They win 2 more and they will have finally proved it.
They had a 29 point lead cut to 9 in game 1 and game 2 could?ve gone either way all with the mavericks playing absolutely terrible.
So far the Celtics have done what they?re supposed to and I like where they are.
The.series.is.not.over.
It?s the first team to 4, not 2.

Of course it is not over. But give them an ounce of credit. They have won games in this playoffs they probably would have lost in previous runs. They are showing the ability to close tight games. They have not lost on the road in the playoffs.

Will they win both in Dallas? I have no idea. I know sweeping a team in the later rounds of the playoffs is so hard. Teams that swept through the NBA Finals are very rare...not Jordan's Bulls, not the Celtics of Bird, not Denver, not the Cavs.  Not the Pistons. Not the Heat.

The only ones I remember were Golden State Warriors over Cleveland Cavaliers. 2007: San Antonio Spurs over Cleveland Cavaliers. 2002: Los Angeles Lakers over New Jersey Nets.

I do think they get one in Dallas and the Mavs better hope it is not game 3.
Just 2 more games to win and maybe you will find some joy in this team.

I agree that tomorrow will be the toughest test of the season. The Celtics are starting to see the finish line. Winning the third game is always the apex of the climb and Dallas knows that this is their season.

TP for a perfect statement: Just 2 more games to win and maybe you will find some joy in this team.

Reading many of the posts this year reminded me of my complaining kids while I drive them for ice cream.

Again, I?m completely thrilled with where the Celtics are at. Found endless joy in the first 2 games.

That doesn?t mean the series is over or the mavs are overrated. If they play 2 more games like games 1 and 2 I?ll go there. Because I?m not willing to go there after 2 games you?re just endlessly arguing with me. It?s insufferable.

You had "experts" calling this series in 5 for the mavs. They said the back court was the best scoring one of all time. They even have been telling us Luka clears Bird despite not winning anythign.

Mavs are a good team, but they are the defninition of overrated.

Don?t think anyone thinks this series is over. Through two game tho Dallas looks like the team we saw for most of the regular season.

The next three days will tell us everything we need to know about this series. By Saturday morning we will either be NBA champions,  up 3-1 coming home to close it out or in a three game series with home court advantage.

Series isn't over, but I was a joke for many in the media to discount how good this team was just because the Mavs had a decent run.

One of my coworkers is a huge NBA fan, but hates the Celtics. He isn't watching the finals because in his words "watching the Celtics win makes me sick".  He doesn't see a way for Dallas to win, so he isn't watching at all. And he loves basketball.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Very typical ,  but it?s ok NO matter how many championships the Lakers win or all the Shenanigans they use to elevate their team?..that?s fine with people like that :-X
