Williams and Shugla declined

Queta and Banton picked up. No idea why they are keeping Banton.

Because he's non-guaranteed.

Gotcha.

So is Amari Williams a free agent now?

Potentially a restricted free agent, if a qualifying offer is extended.  Both are also eligible to return as 2-way contracts.

I did not know you could still make a qualifying offer if you decline your team option. Good to know, thank you.

I don't like that rule for the players. Good for teams. I feel the players should be unrestricted FAs if teams don't pickup their options.

JUST IN: Boston Celtics center Amari Williams has agreed to a deal to return to the Celtics, league sources told @hoopshype. Williams appeared in 22 games for Boston last season. He?s represented by agent George S. Langberg of @GSLSportsGroup.

Amari is back on a 2-way deal.

1/3 spots filled for now with Dillon Mitchell inevitably filling another.

Glad he?s back and Harper too. Now let?s get to the bottom of whatever is going to happen with Jaylen.

He was waived.

I thought his option was declined, no?  Slightly different between being a free agent and being claimable on the waiver wire first.

Correct, wrong wording.  In Shulga's case, it wouldn't make a difference, because no NBA team would have been likely to pick him up on waivers.

It's about time.  I know the history with the Garden, but they lose so much money every year.

Selfishly, I would love this.  With family on south shore & the Cape, the commute to the new arena would be much easier btw red line and commuter rail.

Yeah I'm all for it. And lets be real, we have passionate fans but that's not translating to homecourt advantage lately lol, in fact I think our postseason record in the past 6 years at home has been very mediocre. The "TD Garden" history and magic feels gone. Let the Bruins just play there with Jacobs, and get a new building for the Celtics.

Free Agency begins in 4 minutes technically, are we expecting any signings from the Celtics early on lol?

I think Brandon Williams will be signed. After that we'll see, but I'd sure hope they have a plan for the frontcourt because the options have dwindled big time already

Beware of cardboard seats with Chisholm as the owner.   Every thing with the team has been to cut costs.

Agreed. The Celtics record at home in Boston in the playoffs especially is just asinine. Maybe just take away the home altogether and let the Celtics play on the road all 7 games in a best of 7
