"Wyc Grousbeck will no longer stay on as governor as part of the Boston Celtics' $6.1 billion sale to Bill Chisholm, sources tell me and @ramonashelburne. Plan had been for Grousbeck to remain through 2028. Chisholm assumes governor title and the transfer will be finalized soon."

Interesting.  I'm curious how voluntary this is, and if we'll see something similar with the Lakers sale.  Basically, is this the Board of Governors pushing back on these types of sales, or does Wyc no longer wish to be associated with a rebuilding team?
This is basically what happened to Cuban with the Dallas sale right?

According to multiple league sources, while Bill Chisholm will technically be the Celtics Governor, he and Wyc Grousbeck plan to run the team together as originally planned. But with Chisholm as Governor and Grousbeck as alternate Governor and CEO. The change in structure was due to league rules, including minimum ownership, sources said. Grousbeck will end up owning slightly less than the required 15 percent given final funding for the transaction. Operations of the team should remain consistent with Brad Stevens and Rich Gotham continuing to run basketball and business operations.

Chisholm and Grousbeck seem pretty buddy-buddy so far. This makes sense.

I think the NBA Cuo is something the Celtics will take seriously this year.  I am looking forward to it.

hoping this new BS arrangement doesn't impede broadcasts on NBCSN.  as much as Scal has become more grating on the broadcast, I'll still take him over the dipsticks doing the national broadcasts.

Yuck to Amazon Prime games.  I do have access but I find it an awkward watch - especially if you like to flip around a bit during play stoppage.

Don?t want to derail, but strong disagree here. Scal is an awful, awful announcer. The constant laughter. The insecurity. The need to praise the opposition to an absurd degree.

I?ll take anyone other than him.

well then you're welcome to Doris Burke who can't shut up with useless commentary that typically praises the opposition and dings the C's or just outright ignores them

For me, Doris Burke is the worst one to listen to. Horribly grating to my ears.
