Is it true that Ben Simmons is deciding between Celtics or Knicks??? Saw couple outlets reporting this but can?t take any truth to anything anymore

Those are the two prominent franchises you see in rumors, but I don't think Brad has any interest in Simmons.  Simmons can't space the floor, and he's a in the locker room.

Yes, if Brad were interested in Simmons, he would not have just signed Boucher.

Simmons can be used at Center, Boucher cannot. I think that would be the idea if he came to Boston.

We just created an open roster spot and Brad immediately signed Boucher to fill it.  Brad seemingly always starts with 14 players on the roster.  If he was actively negotiating with Simmons, he would have signed him when he had the spot instead of immediately signing Boucher and filling up the roster.  These rumors have no legs.

Speaking to reporters in Providence on Thursday, Celtics team president Rich Gotham didn?t exactly shoot down a scenario where Tatum could give the Celtics a boost in the spring especially if a revamped roster manages to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.

That?s a down-the-road question. That?s one you can?t really answer today,Gotham responded. But what I know about JT is, he?s gonna do everything he can to put us in a position to make a decision. He?s gonna work hard to get back as soon as he can, and we?ll see how soon that is. But for right now, we?re not really looking at timetables.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

The Celtics announced they waived two-way player Miles Norris on Sunday. Norris, a 25-year-old forward they signed in March, was entering his second season with the team.

2-way slot for Amari Williams?

That is sad. He looked one of the most ready to contribute this season off that SL team.

I hope he finds a home somewhere else.

Does this pave the way for a Bassey signing too?

This might be a good year to bring over Yam Madar and Juhann Begarin.

I agree that Norris may have been closer to being the 15th guy on a bad team ready to contribute than Amari Williams, but I think Williams has way more ceiling, so it makes more sense to keep him this season.  It is a 2-way contract.

We are still only at 14 on the regular roster assuming Luis, Shulga, and Williams get the 2-way contract slots.  And we are about $6.8M under the second apron, so we have some salary flexibility and a $4.0M TPE (Springer) and a $4.7M TPE (Holiday), in addition to the Porzingis TPE.

I say that because we could absorb Kessler into a portion of the Porzingis TPE.  I know he is not the end all, but he seems like he would be a good fit.  Cheap this season, and we will have additional salary space under the second apron to sign him next season.  His QO is $14.6M.  It might take more than that but not a bad place to start.

We also now have the $8.2 million Niang exception.

Good point, that was not showing up on Sportrac.  The deal must not be finalized or something.

I guess if UTA was looking to trade Kessler, and BOS was willing to meet their price, they could have just included a pick or two in this deal and got it done.  In that it did not get done probably means UTA is asking for too much or BOS's interest is not that high.
