Yet, while Celtics fans celebrated every half-court attempt, it would appear members of the Mavericks roster were growing frustrated. During a recent livestream with Jaylen Brown, former Celtics guard Kyrie Irving revealed that he?d considered throwing a punch at Pritchard during that series. ?We were going to halftime,? Irving said. ?I ain?t gonna lie to you, I thought about swinging. One time, just to see where he was at. I thought about swinging one time.?

Kyrie is such a tool.
If you watch the clip, I think its pretty clear hes jokingly saying those shots were so backbreaking and frustrating that they made him want to hit the guy.

Granted its Kyrie so maybe he genuinely felt Pritchard did something wrong haha.

I can't bring myself to watch that podcast, because I don't want to see JB interacting with that knucklehead.  I love JB the player, but I can't tolerate the antisemitic adjacent JB.

The Toronto Raptors were reportedly willing to part with RJ Barrett and the No. 9 pick in an aggressive pursuit of Jrue Holiday.

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, who spoke with CLNS Media Boston Sports Network, Toronto is believed to have offered a package involving Barrett and the ninth overall pick to the Boston Celtics in an effort to acquire the veteran guard.

The deal reportedly focused on shedding Barrett & his $57.3 million contract over the next two years. Boston ultimately declined and chose to trade Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons, whose $27.7 million salary will expire at the end of the season.

That sounds very unlikely.  Raptors giving up the #9 to take on Holiday's larger 3-year contract to get rid of Barrett's 2-year contract doesn't make sense.  If that deal was on the table, Stevens/ownership screwed up not taking it.  Could have gotten Coward or Queen with #9.  Barrett would have been tradeable.

Jake Fischer: As we discussed, I think the Celtics are still very active in taking trade calls?maybe even making trade calls. There was some conversation last week between Memphis and Boston about something. We?re still looking to track down more info on that. But rival teams are definitely still under the impression that Boston is looking for deals involving both Anfernee Simons and Georges Niang

My guess?  Brad was looking for BBQ recommendations.

Took me a while to read BBQ as BBQ and not BBIQ. Was trying figure out why Memphis is giving Brad advice on BBIQ.  But BBQ? Yeah Memphis has some great BBQ.

Read a couple of stories that Baylor is going to be bought out and waived!  Too bad, Baylor and Walsh, back to back draft busts.

Interesting. They do need more scoring. They have a lot of guys that are decent, which is good for the type of system they want to run, but they need another scorer. They need another guy that can run the offense when Morant inevitably gets injured, but is also able to play next to Morant.

Simons for KCP and a 1st makes a lot of sense. The Grizzles essentially trade Bane for Simons and 3 1sts in that scenario. The Celtics trade Holliday for KCP and 1st and a bunch of space.

The other idea that made sense to me was for Edey. Edey was drafted seemingly as a fit for Jenkins system, but this open flow no PnR system that the new guy is trying to run doesn't fit Edey's game or strengths.

i wonder if we could grab Edey as our center of the future. I'd love that.

Are players selected 30 and 38 considered busts if they don?t make it?  There should be another word for it.

But more importantly, neither are done yet.  Baylor will get regular minutes and it?s possible Jordan will too.  I?m not holding my breath for either to become an impact player in the league but there have been a lot worse players drafted where they were drafted.

I have not seen this either and also have doubts.  Scheierman is fully guaranteed at about $2.6M.  Davison has $0 guaranteed (fully guaranteed in January) and Walsh only has $200,000 guaranteed, fully guaranteed on opening night.  I would think Davison is the first to go if they waive anyone, and then Walsh.  I think Walsh is better than Scheierman but not enough better to warrant eating $2.6M in Scheierman salary in order to keep him.

They are about $331K over the 2nd apron right now per Sportrac (and this looks accurate).  They don't necessarily need to resolve that at the start of the season.  But being over could limit them in some trades, for example if they wanted to combine salaries or take back just a few dollars more than they send out.  A couple of million dollars of buffer would add some flexibility.  My guess is they don't waive anyone now unless they have to for a specific deal and they need to get under the second apron.

Considering Baylor finished the regular season with actual positive NBA minutes....I don't think they would waive a 1st round pick with 3 guaranteed years left based on a bad shooting SL.

It is actually only 2025-26 that is guaranteed.  The following 2 seasons are team options.  So they could move on from him after this season with no penalty or dead money, but if they waive him now, they eat his contract for this season (about $2.6M).  I agree that it does not seem like this is something that will happen.

Good point. It is so uncommon that teams don't pick up the 3rd and 4th year that I forgot they were team options. Good catch.
