Thinking JB's becoming a little too full of it lately. The throat slash, the Gianni's diss in both games etc. Need to keep it classy.

If not for the Finals MVPs and ring, some of us be having a field day with Jaylen.

Now he's gonna have a target on his back and we already have Tatum being targeted.

He should be standing up to Giannis, particularly because he's thrown elbows at JB the past two games.  I'd rather see toughness than "classiness" in those situations.

The throat slash was unnecessary, but no more so than the "too small" gestures and other taunting we see.

I agree about Giannis. That fake handshake thing was a lowlife move. If he wanted to say ?we are cool man? he should not have pulled back his hand. Just be sincere. JB was justified in calling him a child.

Jaylen is fine, lol.

I find it hard to soapbox about the throat slash gesture when the NBA will most likely use that moment in ads and highlights for quite some time.  They aren't quite as bad as the NFL in that regard but they still love to have things both ways.  He acknowledged he shouldn't have done it, he wrote a check for it, we're done here.

And going back at Giannis is a good thing, not a bad one.

Looking ahead, I think the two areas that worry me a little about this team is the interior rebounding/presence against bigger teams, and also what's the plan if the 3s aren't falling?

We saw the Grizzlies dare Jrue Holiday to jack up a bunch of open 3s and he went 4-17. I remember Golden State tried a similar strategy with Jaylen last year and it blew up in their face. But I do think this will be replicated around the league, teams will leave someone like Jrue wide open and dare him to take it. He could kill them some games but he could also be ice cold.

On the flip side though, even our losses are really close even when the 3s aren't falling, and I would be stunned if a team was able to beat us 4 times out of 7 because of it (yes, the 2023 Miami series haunts me but tbh our team was also flawed that year)

Our frontcourt though is also a slight concern. Feels like the teams with size are able to capitalize on rebounds and second chance points often, and Porzingis' own injury history isn't that great. Tillman unfortunately might not be that depth big in 2025. Queta/Kornet could help in the regular season but come playoff time I would worry if we're relying on a 39 year old Horford to give the team like 36+ MPG consistently.

Interesting fact....last 3 seasons the Celtics have had the same record after 25 games.....20-5.

This Celtics team might be the best of all with the emergence of a really good bench led by PP. Hauser seems more confident. Kornet seems more aggressive. Al is steady as ever. Still would like to see one more wing added. Don't think Walsh nor Peterson can be counted on during the wars of the Spring.

I look at it this way in terms of the core rotation:

Guards:  White, Holiday, Pritchard  [Springer]
Wings:   Tatum, Brown, Hauser   [Walsh]
Bigs:      Porzingis, Horford, Kornet  [Queta]

If you are 3 deep in each of these categories, that is pretty good.  I see our wing group as probably the best in the league.  Right now, our 3rd big is Kornet, but sometimes it is Queta.  Springer, Walsh, and Queta are all fine as the 4th in line, you don't expect them to play in the playoffs or any other meaningful minutes.  I guess this is kind of a 1st World problem but I feel the weakest spot is 3rd big.  We are very solid through 8 though, when everyone is healthy, so hard to complain.  And Kornet isn't horrible as the 3rd big.  Definitely serviceable.

Any concern I have at the wing is due to Hauser showing some durability issues.  If he is not up to snuff, then yes, the 3rd wing role could be of some concern.  But if he plays at the level he has for the prior two seasons, then I am not worried about the wing group.  Walsh as the 3rd wing would be concerning but the same would be true if Pritchard got hurt and it was Springer who had to be the 3rd guard.  Our top bigs are the most likely to miss games also so the 4th and 5th bigs get called on more often than the 4th guard or 4th wing.

JB speaking his mind out. Let?s see if the league fines him again. Silver and Co are blaming the decline in viewership due to the excessive three point shooting by todays nba teams. They should look at how the refs are calling the games as well.

Eh.  If a ref says "don't say it again" and the player persists, then it's just stupid power struggling.  The ref might come off looking like he's on a power trip, but the player ends up costing his team points.

If JB is being honest and that's all he said, then the ref is out of line.

I suspect that he might be leaving out some language that would make the full picture look different, though.

Pods cast episode with Tony Allen, Al Jefferson and Zack Randolph. Discussing the KG trade and how they found out. It?s a good listen.

Yeah but they should obviously be 27-0. I can't believe how far this team has fallen!

Biggest threats to beat Boston in order from 1-7 (1 being toughest) IMO:

1. OKC
2. Orlando (IF everyone is healthy)
3. Cleveland
4. New York
5. Memphis
6. Dallas
7. Indiana

I still think we just match up better against MIL and obviously Doc Rivers is still there, otherwise they've looked awesome lately and Giannis has been MVP-lite. Memphis has been on a run and are now the 2 seed in the West, they look sneaky elite and their roster is loaded. Marcus Smart is a role player there which to me actually fits him and the team very well.

I do think Orlando with Banchero and the Wagner brothers healthy are probably our biggest threats in the East even over CLE/NY/IND. But of course, it's if they are all healthy. It'll be a massive win if we can somehow avoid playing any of CLE/NY/ORL until the ECF while those 3 can maybe cannibalize themselves in the first two rounds.

Indiana is weird. I went into the year thinking they'd be our 2nd or 3rd biggest threats behind OKC but something is really off about them. They have been inconsistent. But I really hope we don't draw them in the first round if they are a play-in team, they can still put up points fast
