Celtics are on pace to make 1,562 three pointers this season. That would smash the previous single season record held by the 22-23 Warriors who hit 1,363.

Celtics have been eliminated from the NBA Emirates Cup.

Quote
The Celtics fell short of advancing out of NBA Cup pool play Tuesday night after one necessary result did not go their way. Boston was not in action Tuesday after finishing NBA Cup pool play with a 3-1 record but were still alive for a wildcard berth when the night began based on tiebreakers.

The Celtics needed favorable results in two games (Bucks-Pistons + Knicks-Magic) in order to advance to the knockout round via a point differential tiebreaker. The night started out well for Boston on that front as the Bucks blew out the Pistons by 21, covering the necessary margin of victory (5+ points) needed to give Boston the tiebreaker advantage over the Pistons, who also finished with a 3-1 record in pool play.

We won the consolation prize, though: our two games during the cup will be vs. Detroit and @ Washington.
I'm bitter.

Hah!  That?s some great company. A stat somewhere in the realm of Robert Horry?s 7 rings.

I couldn?t be happier missing the tournament.  Instead of an extra x-country trip and a possible 83rd game, Cs get needed rest with a light schedule.

I was expecting that.  Honestly I thought he was lucky that he didn't get T'd up when he did it.

It was right after his poster dunk on Stewart. He did the "throat slash" gesture to Stewart.

Tbh I'm surprised he did it, and that he wasn't given a technical for it at the time.

uggg Jaylen is smarter than that.   just don't do that, keep the 25k and give it to charity if you want to part with your money so badly.

Thinking JB's becoming a little too full of it lately. The throat slash, the Gianni's diss in both games etc. Need to keep it classy.

If not for the Finals MVPs and ring, some of us be having a field day with Jaylen.

Now he's gonna have a target on his back and we already have Tatum being targeted.

I'm not a fan of throat slashes or obnoxious behavior, but Jaylen is undoubtedly an emotionally driven Celtic.  With the exception of Pritchard and KP, the remainder of the rotation is pretty stoic. Think about it, Tatum, Jrue, DW, Al, Sam.  KP and PP have emotional energy, but more positive emotion.  The deeper bench also doesn't exactly wear their collective heart on their sleeve, though Q has something in him.   Jaylen gets p---ed off and comes to the aid of teammates, and he postures, and he trash talks (I think).  He's an imposing guy and I think the team may need that - not to the extent of a Draymond or Grant - but I think Jaylen brings some of that aggressive fire.  I don't love it tbh but I acknowledge that some of that is probably a good thing for a team to have.
