Wolves need shooters.  They also are getting killed on the pnr.  Boston better take a close look at stopping that.  Zinger is a huge key to that.

If Lively recovers, I think C’s are better off facing Towns/Gobert than Gafford\Lively

Wolves are the worse matchup.
They are bigger but Mavs dudes play with a lot of force.

Wolves fall for the same play over and over and over again

Hard to believe they were considered a top defensive team.

Celtics are a much better team on defending the pnr

C’s will spread them out. Dallas can’t guard the J’s.

Announcers dubbing Doncic and Kyrie best backcourt ever.

Minnesota need to trade Towns for another scoring wing to help Edward’s out. Reid and Gobert are fine manning the post.

The announcers did specify the best offensive backcourt.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington

Luka = 33pts 10-20 FGA 8-10 FTA 7reb 5ast 5stl 1blk
Kyrie = 33pts 12-20 FGA 6-8 FTA 4ast

Ant = 26pts 11-24 FGA 4-6 FTA 9reb 9ast
Towns = 14pts 5-18 FGA 4-5 FTA 11reb 3ast

Combined

Luka & Kyrie = 66pts 22-40 FGA 14-18 FTA
Ant & Towns = 40pts 16-42 FGA 8-11 FTA

Same story in each of the three games. Luka and Kyrie out-playing Towns and Ant. The Mavs big two vs the Wolves big two.

Agree.  I low-key really dislike this Minny matchup for us.  They have excellent point-of-attack wing defenders and elite rim protection, which is typically the formula for turning Tatum into a very inefficient volume scorer.

Dallas is harder to guard because Luka and Kyrie are more or less immune to great defense when they're rolling, but I feel good about our offense against them.  There's also the mental angle with Kyrie, which has generally been in our favor ever since that last playoff series against Brooklyn.  Not easy and certainly not guaranteed - nothing is at this point in the playoffs - but favorable compared to Minnesota IMO.
