Nope, that's the right call. Yes he blocked it initially, but Washington retained control of the ball and continued into a shot during which he was fouled.

It's very similar to the call in the Bos vs Ind game where the Indiana player got ball but also hit Jaylen on the side of the head. During that play Jaylen maintaned control of the ball and got a shot off. That SHOULD have been a foul as well.

They are only going to call contact incidental if it happens after a player no longer has control of a ball in the act of shooting.

Absolute screw job by the refs there. Literally, you might as well flip a coin anymore with what is and is not a foul, even when being reviewed. So arbitrary.

That's the exact opposite call that they gave Brunson a few games back claiming that he "got the ball first", when he clearly didn't.
