Game six, 5/18. If you watched it tonight you saw a great game. Mavs were behind most of the game but came roaring back late in the fourth quarter. And won by one point, 117-116. Tension at the end and went down to the last two seconds. Now they wait to see if they play Denver or Minnesota.

Dallas were 1 win 2 losses vs Denver.
And 1 win 3 losses vs Minnesota.

In the regular season this year.

Kinda irrelevant if you ask me, Dallas seemed to put it all together towards the end of the year and are a different team now then they were much of the year

For such a great game, it was an incredibly weak way for it to end.   The Thunder played great defense on Luka and forced them into a contested corner 3 by Washington.  He leaned away from the basket to draw contact, and even then SGA got mostly ball with only marginal contact afterwards.

Yeah, although I guess technically it was a foul, I feel that the NBA up until recently would never call those in the closing moments of playoff games.

Dallas has given MIN + DEN some fits in the past. I wouldn't call it "impossible" for them to win the West even though I'd still pick the winner of MIN-DEN today to reach the Finals.

I give Dallas a higher chance of winning the WCF than I do the winner of NY/IND for the ECF.

Yeah, I think Dallas would be our best matchup in the Finals, and I don’t think it’s necessarily that close.

I’d say Denver is a toss up series and give us a slight edge in the Minny series. But I think we’re pretty solid favorites against Dallas, as we played them really well this year (even after their resurgence) and matchup well.

To those who often suggest that the NBA refs conspire with the commissioner to do his bidding, wouldn’t this be a counter-example?  Would have been an easy no-call or even a justifiable reversal and would have possibly (probably) resulted in a game 7.

It’s sort of mute. Kyrie got the putback. Dallas would’ve still been up 1 with 2.5 to play. Only difference was they would’ve had a time out, but they could’ve kept a timeout with challenging. Messy end for sure. I’m 50/50 on if I would’ve challenged it.

No, both Holmgen and the other OKC defender near Kyrie reacted to the whistle. Kyrie does not necessarily get the putback without the whistle. I’m not certain what would have happened but you can see both Thunder players pull back at the whistle.

I think the home teams win today.

Denver won't be blowing out Minnesota, but it'll come down to the wire...maybe a 2-5 point win.
