I don’t think the NBA needs Draymond Green. I’m not even sure Golden State does anymore. I think it will be a while before we see Draymond Green again.

Brooklyn matchup pretty well with Phoenix. They got a lot of long wing players with Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, D Finney Smith, Royce O'Neale. A couple of mobile defensive centers particluarly Nic Claxton but also Sharpe. A big PG in Dinwiddie.

The only vulnerable matchup is Cam Thomas who Phoenix can matchup hunt. Other than that, Brooklyn are probably one of the better teams in the league at matching up against Phoenix's Big Three stars.

That looks like a 15 game level suspension to me given Draymond's pas actions. A different player might only get 7-10 games. Looks intentional. Fist to head. 15 games I reckon.

Suns have some really weak lineups when only 1 of their big 3 is on the floor. Their bench is just too weak. Even their two other non-big 3 starters are weak.

I suppose it looks worse because they are missing guys today. Eric Gordon, Grayson Allen & Okogie are all missing.

So the bench today is Eubanks, Goodwin, Watanabe and Nassir Little. Picture those 4 guys and one of the Suns Big 3. Not pretty.

Come playoff time, Phoenix will have to keep 2 of their Big 3 on the floor at all times to stay in games. They won't be able to afford just 1 of them on the floor alongside those weak bench guys.

Even Ron Artest never seemed as reckless. All he had was Malice At The Palace. And then that year when he swung his elbow at James Harden's head (probably that's why Harden is the way he is nowadays).

Draymond Green...sheesh you hear his name every other week swinging elbows or playing linebacker on the basketball court

If Giannis can do 64 points each night they will be tough to stop

If Tatum is dropping 64 points a night, make your parade plans now.

Brooklyn got a nice bit of firepower with

G: Dinwiddie
G: Cam Thomas
F: Mikal Bridges
F: Cam Johnson
C: Nic Claxton

Four good offensive players. One screener / rim roller. The spacing is good. Four guys who can shoot. Bridges and Cam high level shooters. Cam Thomas a dynamic scorer. Dinwiddie more of an all-rounder offensively. Not a specialist in things but useful (a threat) at everything.

Good balance.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Cam Thomas reminds me of Vinnie Johnson. That strong bulky build in a small guard with major microwave scorer material.

  • Signature move: Punch to the jejunum
The Washington Wizards and Capitals have called Washington, D.C., home since December 1997, but a move to Northern Virginia may be on the horizon.

Ted Leonsis and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced on Wednesday plans to develop a $2 billion sports and entertainment district in Alexandria’s Potomac Yard, with the project set to include not only a new arena but a new practice facility for the Wizards, a performing arts center, a studio for the company’s Monumental Sports Network, hotels, a convention center, housing, and retail.

The plan ultimately looks to take many of the same concepts initially applied to the development of Capital One Arena, but in a much larger, more unified project, and one keeping in the current “mini-city” trend sweeping the sports industry. MSE and Youngkin are targeting a 2028 opening.

Draymond Green, Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr., and Green’s agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports are expected to meet Thursday to start discussing a path of counseling and help for Green to move forward, sources said. The league didn’t want to put a specific number on the suspension, but allow Green to take the time he might need to deal with challenges he’s facing.

I hate the way this is worded tbh.  He’s not being suspended for punching an opponent in the face.  He’s “taking time to deal with challenges he’s facing.”  Give me a break.  He’s not the victim here.

They did the same crap with Ja last season, where they tried to pull the wool over the public’s eyes by blaming substance abuse for the fact that Ja couldn’t be seen in a photo without a piece.

Co-sign.

If Draymond has some extenuating circumstances, sure, in theory, get him the help he needs. No worries, we all know someone who has behaved badly under pressure, substance abuse, etc.

What I don't think we need to do is walk on eggshells around the idea that yeah, Draymond has a neverending history of thinking he can assault people on a basketball court with no meaningful repercussions.

I don't think the NBA is blameless, but I get tired of crap like this. In the real world, when you assault other people you lose your job. The first time. I'm not entertained just because this is sports, it just makes me think less of the whole endeavor.

Kick him out for the season unless he actually manages to do "all the right things" from here.
