I lived in Alexandria for 10 years, I used to go to games when the stadium was in Landover, MD (awful for a major sports stadium).  Potomac Yard didn't even exist then.  I really like the stadium downtown, that seems like a much better location for fans.  I have seen a few events at the current venue.  You walk out of the stadium and there are restaurants, bars, you are right downtown in the shopping district.  It is great.

Maybe I am partial as that is how the (Boston) Garden has always been, right downtown.  I am very familiar with that area in Alexandria and I don't think it will be that great of a place for a stadium.  There is the potential for more parking but it won't be easy to drive there at rush hour.  There is one Metro stop there now but downtown there are 3 or 4 stops within walking distance of the current stadium.

They won't consult me, I am sure, but I would recommend to stay in downtown DC.  Will they have to rename the team to the Virginia Wizards?  That sounds kind of KKK'ish.

Clippers have now won 10 of their last 13 games.

Starting to take shape? A legit contender?

They're one of the most dangerous teams in the West. People like to make fun of Harden (and deservedly so), but he can still play and an experienced playmaker is exactly what Leonard and George needed. Health is a big issue though and the Nuggets have been an angstgegner for them for years. Overall I rate the Clippers above the Timberwolves, Suns, Lakers, Thunder and Mavericks.

They are a much bigger threat in the West than the Lakers are.

Indefinite suspension for Draymond, per Woj.

Hard to comment on that without my crystal ball handy, unfortunately.  Could be five games, could be fifteen, likely contingent on Dray fulfilling some conditions like Ja did the first time around (anger management, etc).  So we’ll see.

ESPN Sources: The NBA is suspending Golden State’s Draymond Green indefinitely.

Draymond Green, Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr., and Green’s agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports are expected to meet Thursday to start discussing a path of counseling and help for Green to move forward, sources said. The league didn’t want to put a specific number on the suspension, but allow Green to take the time he might need to deal with challenges he’s facing.

Good. It’s about time…

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

They're suspending him indefinitely because they knew that no matter how long they suspended him, people would be mad about it. But by waiting a couple of weeks and then announcing that they decided he has learned his lesson and is ready to return, people will have started to forget about it and will be less angry. There's a 0% chance he actually changes his behavior after this.

They shouldn't bring him back for the Christmas game because that would be way too short of a suspension, but you have to think they're considering it.
I'm bitter.

Yeah I don't know if the 'Indefinite' is really as heavy of a punishment as it sounds at first.  So he completes some NBA mandated counseling, and sells it to them that he won't do it again, and then he is playing again in 2 weeks?  I guess we will have to wait and see how this plays out.  Better than another 5 game suspension, but still maybe not what it should have been?  Who knows.

But will the league also 'counsel' the officials who seem to let him get away with way more than ANY other NBA player?  I mean if the officials are going to give him a longer leash than anyone else, we are back to the same problem when he comes back.

Looks like Green won't get a chance to be a jerk against the Cs next week.  What a pity.

Fun block by Durant on Mikal Bridges. Bridges with those long of arms of his with a pull up jumper from 14 feet with Durant coming from behind with his even longer arms just swatting it right out of play. The length of those two guys is incredible.

Beal, Booker & Durant are all playing today.
